37: Praying for Your Spouse, Feminine Products + Male Bonding

Have you ever wanted to get inside the mind of a man? There have been analogies of how men come from Mars and women from Venus. Or that men's minds are like waffles, and women’s like spaghetti. Whatever you think, I’ve done a little digging so you don’t have to continue to wonder why men think the way that they do. In a series of three episodes, I’ve gathered male friends of mine, married and single, to answer questions that women want to know about men, and let me tell you, it gets deep!

In this episode, I chop it up with Emmy and Zander about why men don’t go as deep in their relationships like women, if praying for your future spouse is even beneficial or something either of them did, and we even touch a little on some men’s choice of feminine products for their woman. If you’re looking for some insight mixed with a lot of laughs, then this is the episode for you. Stay tuned!

34: Rest, Rhythms, and Relaxation In God’s Plan (feat. Timi Komonibo)
As we're going into the new year, thinking about how to best tackle our goals, lives, and things we want to accomplish, rest can oftentimes be put on the back burner. I want to encourage you to make rest a priority as we go into 2022. In this final episode of season four, I talk to creative, entrepreneur, and productivity queen Timi Komonibo about the art of staying and the art of rest. For a whole calendar year, God told Timi to go on a sabbatical with no titles, no roles, and stepping away from being somebody's boss. The goal: just to be with God. We also dig into provision in the midst of an unfamiliar place, identity shifts and understanding who God has called you to be, recognizing cycles and rhythms of rest, and how rest is more than sleeping and self-care.

33: Using Social Media to Share Your Identity In Christ

Did you know that before 2016, there was no definition for the term “influencer” on Dictionary.com?! Crazy to think, right? We use that term so much nowadays that it's easily a part of our vocabulary.

Currently, it’s so popular to be an influencer or categorize someone as such, whether on social media, in thought, activism, words or more. What if I told you that being an influencer is actually biblical? What if being an influencer is not just a cultural norm, but the way God wants us to be and live our lives, as that of an influencer. In this episode, I break down how we can be influencers for Christ in our everyday social media lives...that your real life and social persona don’t have to be separate, or even forced. I also touch on social media as a vehicle through which ministry happens, our personal spheres of influence, being an example and how our actions teach people how to treat us, and developing your message.

If you’re joining the podcast today, this is your reminder that we’re in the middle of a  mid-season series centered all around couples in their first year of marriage. On today’s episode, we have Mr. and Mrs. Next Level themselves, Olivia and Marcus McCollum. One thing about the McCollums, they’re about their business and inviting God into all that they do. From road trips, to collecting pins, and some very viral moments in their relationship, they’re just your regular recent college grads. Yes, you heard that correctly…Olivia and Marcus decided to tie the knot in the middle of their senior year of college, but they regret nothing. Get into our conversation about the culture shock of being married young, what submission really is like, and the call to marriage. 29: Modesty Is More Than What You Wear (feat. Molade Aliyu + Alyssa Patterson)
Some say that "modest is hottest," and that statement, alone, can be quite controversial. But, what if modesty is not about being the "hottest," or getting attention. What if it's not even about your outward appearance, at all, or how you decide to style it. In this episode, I sit down with vintage shop owner, Molade Aliyu, and mid-size influencer, Alyssa Patterson to discuss all things fashion and modesty, and how faith plays a role in it all. Both women share about their journeys into fashion, and give insight into how we as Christians can do a better job of viewing the topic of modesty. Some other things we touch on is, the battle of visuals and heart checks, and why men play a part in the talk about modesty.

28: Becoming Disciples Who Disciple (feat. Olumide Akinwande + CJ Maduka)
And we're back with part two of the conversation about discipleship. Do yourself a favor. If you haven't already, listen to part one, which is the episode right before this one to get the full context of what we're about to get into. In this episode, I'm continuing the conversation with my brothers in the faith, Olumide Akinwande and CJ Maduka on what discipleship is all about and how that practically plays out in the church. If you ask me, this episode is a tad bit juicer as we get into the discipleship divide between men and women, the various shapes of discipleship, and so much more.

27: What Does "Discipleship" Mean? (feat. Olumide Akinwande + CJ Maduka)
The Kevin Hart line, “You ‘gon learn today,” has never been more true than in the context of this podcast episode. If nothing else, you’ll learn about what discipleship is, in its essence. In this episode, we do a deep dive into discipleship with two of my brothers in the faith, Olumide Akinwande and CJ Maduka. Both of them are nothing less than passionate about reaching the lost and the next generation, as well as shepherding those connections well. In part one of this conversation, we get into why discipleship is a pillar of the Christian faith, how it can be so transformative, and also, why it can, sometimes, be complicated.

If you're listening to this, along with my friends Brittany and Bria -- I know, it's a lot of alliteration going on -- all three of us will be talking about singleness. In this pretty candid and honest conversation, nothing is off-limits. We talk about frustrations in singleness and dating, being ghosted, how the church treats singles, and of course, being single by choice or by "nature." You're in for a treat.

25: Evangelism on TikTok (feat. Kaylyn Goode)
With over 70K followers on TikTok, Kaylyn Goode just considers herself to be a regular person. A regular person with a—sometimes—overwhelming amount of followers, that is. She's your resident TikTok bestie, and in my opinion, a rising voice for Gen Z believers on social media. In this episode, we get into what it really means to share the Gospel on TikTok, accountability in the digital space, how she got into creating content, and how young Christians and leaders can better relate to one another.

What would you say if I told you that social media might just be a part of God’s sovereign plan? If you ask today’s guests Kristoff Hart, who is a Student Pastor at Cross Point Church, and Parker Shepherd, a Campus Missionary with Every Nation Cincinnati, they’d agree. In this episode we dive deep into meeting people and developing communities in the online space, the creative magic that is TikTok and its trends, as well as, the fears of the Church to sometimes accept the “new and next.” We also chop it up and discuss:

👉🏾 adapting church roles + positions to the digital landscape

👉🏾 raising up leaders in the next (and most creative) generation

22: Generational Transfer of the Gospel Through Media (feat. Chelsie Baham & Parker Shepherd)

From handwritten letters to telegrams to social media, the landscape in which we communicate has drastically changed over the years and over varying generations. In this episode, I talk to Chelsie Baham, who is the Creative Director at The Father’s House of Orange County, and Every Nation Campus Missionary, Parker Shepherd about the importance of media in church and ministry, right now. We also get into how we can shift our perspectives as it relates to investing into the next generation...because who else is going to carry on the Gospel (especially on social media)?! Not to mention, we get into...

☞ How would Jesus use social media?

☞ Doing away with the "fake it til you make it" mentality, and realizing the value of asking questions

☞ Reaching people beyond those who look like, sound like, and act like you

☞ What it really means to be a creative made by the Creator (even if it's not "artistic")

☞ Using your platform to influence others with the message of the Gospel + overcoming fear

21: It's Not Just Self Care, But Soul Care (feat. Khadeejah Honesty)

Self care is such a buzzword these days, that at least to me, it’s kind of lost its meaning. It’s almost as if anything can be considered “self care.” And this is not to knock all the #selfcaresaturday lovers, trust me, I’m one too. But, what if I told you that soul care is more effective, and even biblical. In this episode of #InfluencedPod, I talk all about the difference between these two with entrepreneur, Khadeejah Honesty. We also talk all about how she started her amazing jewelry business called Soultry, and how God is calling us to be responsive, rather than reactive to the things that happen in our lives. Honestly, my mind was blown from this conversation, and not to mention, Khadeejah breaks down how sustainability and the Gospel are linked like you’ve, probably, never heard it before.

20: Are You Showing Up in Life?

I'm back with another solo episode! And I want to charge you with joining me in that focus in your own life: to show up! Whether it’s taking charge at work, working out for 10 min or an hour, starting a new passion project, finishing that book you said you were going to read, or cooking more in the kitchen. Whatever it is, even if you’re not at the point of giving it your all, yet, still show up.

I'm explaining what I've learned about what it means to "show up," why that's important, and what a major key to us doing so is.

19: Faith, Sexuality & Finding an Identity in Christ (feat. Dr. Terrance McClain)
There are so many things and, even, people we can relate to and find an identity in, but what makes us want to put your identity in Christ, as opposed to what your circumstances or even people said about us? I talk to Dr. Terrance McClain all about this, in this episode of what happens when your faith and sexuality don’t align. He also shares his journey of recognizing who he is in Christ, and walking out of a lifestyle of same-sex attraction and homosexuality. We also touch on what it looks like to share your testimony, even when there are skeptics.  GUEST INFO Dr. Terrance McClain (IG) — @terrancejmcclain HOST INFO Brianna Moné (IG) — @cestlabrianna #InfluencedPod

In part 1 of this episode, we talked all about media as a means and vehicle for ministry and what that looks like in our current times. If you haven’t listened to part 1, do yourself a favor, and GO LISTEN! In this episode, Parker Shepherd and Rohn Starling are back, but instead of talking about church media, trends, and teams, they go all in about cultivating the creative call. Some people are called to be doctors, lawyers, wrestlers, and so many other things, but this one, this episode is for the creatives (current, questioning and aspiring)! We get into how anyone can create meaningful content for the Lord despite "talent" or skill level, and how to become empowered and equipped in that. And not to mention, Parker and Rohn share their stories of how they got to be where they are today. You don’t want to miss this.
