We've reached the end, but at what cost? Sonam and I discuss our thoughts on the ending of Light Bringer by Pierce Brown, book six of the Red Rising saga. Has Darrow met his match? Will Lysander be free to do as he wills? Will the Rim Survive? Will Eaglet 1 be able to finally fly the ship properly?
Momentum has been building, the pieces are falling into place. Darrow is on a crash course with the volk and the Obsidians, Lysander on course with his own moral failings, Lyria will eventually GET THAT HAM.
The Wife and Husband are continuing the book club with part 2 of Light Bringer by Pierce Brown. The pieces are falling together as the story hurdles through a siege of Mars itself, a desperate defence of Phobos and a bid for Glory.
In Real Lore is back and we are moving on from the grimdark world and into other worlds. The Dynamic Husband and Wife duo!
Welcome to episode 1 on Light Bringer by Pierce Brown. We'll be going over each part of the book individually and going over characters and themes.
Armageddon is one of those planets in Warhammer 40k that everyone has heard about at least once. If your an Ork player, you live and breathe Armageddon. If you are a steel legion fan, you KNOW Armageddon. Otherwise, it can be a bit of question mark if you are new to Warhammer. SO, today I explain the history of Armageddon to my wife. This gives some background and idea of what makes this planet so war-able.
In Warhammer 40k, the Imperial Guard go up against insurmountable odds, facing down the forces of chaos, Tyranids, Aeldari, and worst of all, renegades. How do the fighting men and women of the Astra Militarum maintain their calm in the face of the horrors of the galaxy? By having a Commissar standing behind you. Some Commissars are different though. They lead, the improve morale not through threats, but through sheer charisma. These are the greatest Heroes of the Imperium. Commissar Ciaphas Cain, Sebastian Yarrick, and Ibram Guant.
Blackstone pylons have been mysterious objects, strewn around the Galaxy in Warhammer 40k, but most notably, they were found on the fortress world of Cadia before it fell. These monoliths seems to have some purpose to the Necrons, weaken Chaos, and make the Aeldari a little itchy. But what are these Pylons? What use did they have in a long forgotten past? Could they seal the date of the Imperium of Man, leading us to destruction? Or could they be the salvation that helps Guiliman lead the crusade across the galaxy.
In the Grim Darkness of the 41st Millennium, mother in laws will still question the men. My mother-in-law has been questioning my strange addiction this plastic crack for awhile and has had some curiosity about what this Warhammer 40k was and why the warhammer is 40000. So, I answer her questions about where Warhammer came from, what the background of the lore is and why we all love playing this game so much.
Today, the Doctor explains what damage these weapons inflict. The weapons of the Imperial Guard can do some serious damage to the average human. In Darktide, they hold back the tides of plague cultists, daemons, and dogs alike. But how damaging are they in reality? How level of burns can a lasgun do to your arm? Does the plasma gun roast your insides with radiation? Is the Melta gun that powerful? How much better is the Flamer in combat to a normal flamethrower? Let's not forget about the humblest of all weapons in the Imperial Guard: The Orgyn. What kind of damage will they inflict upon you with their ripper guns, using the gun or the bullets? At In Real Lore, we explore all of the details of your favourite stories and today it will focus exclusively on Warhammer 40k and Warhammer 40k Darktide.
Have you ever wondered how good the medicine of Warhammer 40k is? Did you long to understand battlefield medicine? Wait no longer, the Doctor is in the house and is going over triage and treatment for soldiers in the Emperors Glorious Military (Space Marines not included). How accurate have the writers of 40K made the medicine? Could it work in real life or simply In Real Lore? These documents that have been scrounged up from the depths of the Ministorum detail how a Soldier in the Imperial Guard, a Shipsman in the Imperial Navy, or a Sister in the Adepta Sororitas would be treated on the battlefield. Cowardice is not an injury soldier, accept the Emperor's Grace.
The Null Maidens, the Anathema Psykana, or as they are known to us outside of the universe of Warhammer 40k, the Sisters of Silence are the grim and silent warriors against Chaos itself. They are psychic nulls, soulless humans that are anathema to the forces of chaos, but also potent anti-psychers. They work extensively with the Adepteus Custodes in a force known in the Galaxy as the Talons of the Emperor. They run the black ships, bringing the 1000 psychers a day to Terra from across the Imperium of Man to be sacrificed to the Emperor of Mankind, keeping him alive and maintaining the astronomicon. Sonam is still working on her sisters... The other kind of sisters though in preperation of our kill team game upcoming! Please like and subscribe if you want to see more content like this.

In the 36th millennium, The Imperium was lost. The Emperor was a corpse, the primarchs were either lost, in stasis, or just went to get some drukhari tail. In the power vacuum, a man rose and he wasn't a good person.
This lead to the full rise of the Cult of the Imperium, the sisters of battle, and new rules.
The Adepta Sororitas started as simple women, slowly becoming a force to be reckoned with. This is their history. Nick explains all of this while his wife, Sonam, builds out her new army, the Sororitas.

While my wife blissfully works on building out her Adepta Sororitas army (sisters of battle), I gain my perfect opportunity to give her a two and a half hour long lecture on 40k factions. I’m only going over the factions that have playable armies. I’m not going over the Officio Assassinorum or the inquisitors. I briefly explain the space marines, the Adepteus Custodes and Sisters of Silence. I elaborate on the Orkz, Tau, and the Imperial Guard. I dig into the Necrons and how they are just awesome.
Every 40k fan says they have a 6 hour power point presentation for any one that asks what 40k is, but you have never gone through with it, have you? The rambling will continue until she understands that Custodes are more than JoJo memes and that the Space Wolves are truly only furries.

The EPIC saga of getting my wife into Warhammer 40k BEGINS! Sonam has begun her dark journey by building her Adepta Sororitas, also known as the Sisters of Battle. While she builds her army, I begin to explain the setting of 40k as a whole. Explaining how everything in the universe of 40k sucks. Not just kind of sucks, but ultra turbo sucks and that's the way we love it.
Big guns, big robots, weapons that can destroy solar systems! Everything is completely over the top and there are no "good guys". (Even if everyone thinks its the Space Marines. Hint, they are the worst) You only have slightly grey to deepest black. The nuns drop churches from orbit and sing hymns as they fight heretics. The technicians are software engineers when the senior left and are now chanting and lighing incense to keep the servers running (Adepteus Mechanicus). The potentially least evil are the Leagues of Votann and they are cloned capitalists (hint, that's even more evil).
Don't forget about the lobotomized babies.

In Real Lore explores the lore of many games, novels, movies, and shows. While there are many stories that we have sought to escape into, there are few that beckon us to explore more than the surface details, to dig into the background and histories of the world and learn more about what makes the world seem more realistic to use. Each episode, I’ll dig into another world and maybe particular parts of a world and how it interacts with the main story, the characters in the story, or even how we directly interact with those aspects of the lore.
This episode, I dig into the lore of House of The Dragon, how it went from simply being a footnote in the main story of a Song of Ice and Fire, to being the largest TV shows. How we went from the disaster of the last couple of seasons of Game of Thrones, to wanting more from the world that George RR Martin has created.
