Perception Prison

Asi shares her experience on the fear of other people’s perceptions of her, her need to control how others perceive her and how she works through it.

This episode outlines the importance of self-perception and ultimately having a relationship with oneself, where you trust and believe what you think about you before relying on other people to do so.

However, it also believes that because humans are innately social, there is a need to be socially affirmed and accepted. While acknowledging this need for affirmation from others, it suggests the importance of having a select group of people that one can rely on for affirmation and judgement instead of depending on the internet.

Ultimately, this episode urges self-perception and self-reliance while encouraging the audience to share themselves and focus what they think of themselves and, to a healthy extent, what those they have selected think.

Chords of Affection

Inspired by this question, Asi shares how jazz invokes feelings of affection in her, a non-affectionate person. This is a very casual episode that speaks loosely on Asi’s appreciation for South African jazz, African jazz and contemporary jazz.

Dissatisfaction Meets Appreciation

In this episode, Asi expresses the struggles of working with less than ideal equipment, the endless hours spent editing, being uninspired, and the frustration of feeling like things just aren’t good enough. But amid all the complaining, she also explores the flip side—the importance of gratitude, finding peace in the process, and remembering why she started. It’s an honest look at the highs and lows of being a creative, where dissatisfaction meets appreciation. If you’ve felt like giving up but are trying to stay grateful, this one’s for you.
