3rd November 2015. Seemed to be a show like any other. Ib fact Katherine Boyle and I came out literally high fiving at how good it had been. Ultimately this show prompted an investigation by Tony Hall, the DG, and got me the sack. Two nervous breakdowns followed. It was awful at the time...but it actually helped my legend grow and I would do it almost exactly the same today, except for the bit I shouted.

I think this was 2008. Steve Guttenberg was over for pantomime and I found him just so delightful. We got on really well and ended up being friends. I haven't spoken to him in a number of years but I know if I were to reach out to him, he would help me without question.

Sometimes I look back and think did I really meet them? Was I actually sat opposite Leon Russell for 15 minutes? Yes, yes I did. And it was glorious. I feel so blessed to have met so many of these wonderful people and Leon was a joy. I listened back and he's actually more talkative than I remember. That voice!

I was really nervous for this one. I'd interviewed Brian before but there is something incredible about being in the same room as the man that has shaped your life musically. Not only his music, but his story of addiction, mental illness and ultimately redemption resonate with me on so many levels.
This is not my greatest interview by any stretch. It's rambling and that's because of nerves. But I hope you enjoy it.

The beautiful Neil Innes came into chat to to me at I think it was Absolute Radio then. It may have been Virgin. I'm afraid dates and names aren't my forte. Neither are they Neil's as he calls me Iain Bell - he saves himself though! Such a talented man. I no doubt wang on about The Rutles for far too long.
