Katie O’Grady is an Emmy-winning director with a dynamic career spanning commercial, narrative, and branded content. Her work is shaped by over two decades as a television and film actor. Recognized in SHOOT Magazine’s New Director Showcase, she has helmed campaigns for Nike, LAIKA Studios, and the NBA, where her Emmy-winning “Growing Up Blazers” spot became a viral fan favorite. Her recent Shibumi campaign was named one of Ad Age’s “Top Ten Creative Campaigns To Know About” and received a stunning 97% completion rate.
Katie made her producing debut with Rid of Me, which premiered at Tribeca, earned a New York Times Critics’ Pick, and was acquired by Showtime and Netflix. She has directed dozens of short films and recently wrote and directed Silent Echoes, a suspense short shot with MARVEL/Apple+ DP Darin Moran, premiering at Dances With Films LA. She also wrote and directed All Over Everywhere, a dark comedy produced by David Cress (Portlandia, Shrill), and is currently developing her original series Diamond Mirror, a sharp-witted, ensemble-driven comedy.
Katie’s acting background gives her a unique lens on performance and tone. She was recognized on The Hollywood Reporter’s Oscar Watch List for Best Actress and nominated for Best Comedic Actress by Women in Film alongside Melissa McCarthy, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kristen Wiig. She recently returned from the Women in Comedy Festival in NYC, where she moderated a panel of writers from The Daily Show, The Tonight Show, and Jimmy Fallon, and continues to build community with Women in Film.
Katie is a proud member of the Television Academy, SAG, Alliance of Women Directors, and is the founder of Acting for Kids and Teens and The Studio NW. She is repped by Zero Gravity Management.
