A lot of momentum was lost after the COVID-19 pandemic forced the Philippine men's volleyball team to a long hiatus following their silver medal finish in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.  

But as they finally returned to action in the recently concluded Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship in Thailand, national team stalwarts Ish Polvorosa and Rex Intal are back and building up energy anew.
