Episode 5 | Rooted and Roaming feat. Holly Wielkoszewski

What does it mean to build a life when you’re equally drawn to staying and going?

In this episode of Hōmish, I sit down with writer and digital strategist Holly Wielkoszewski to talk about the long, nonlinear journey home. From cross-country moves to overseas assignments, Holly shares what it’s been like to rebuild her life again and again.

Now rooted in rural New Mexico, Holly is constructing an Earthship with her husband while still carving out space for seasonal adventure. Together, we explore the tension between stability and motion, how to listen for the right rhythm in your life, and what it means to make peace with the in-between.

This is an episode about liminality, loss, landing, starting over, and finding a version of home that doesn’t force you to choose between staying or leaving.

You can follow Holly’s writing at aliminallife.substack.com and learn more about her work at daypackdigital.com

Episode 4 | What They Don't Show on Socials

You’ve seen the dreamy travel vlogs, viral reels, expat TikToks full of blissful morning markets, aesthetic cafes, rooftop sunsets. They’re beautiful.

But they’re not the whole story.

In this episode, I’m sharing what most people don’t talk about when it comes to living abroad (and coming back):

  • The quiet grief you didn’t expect

  • The emotional labor of explaining yourself—again and again

  • The subtle, persistent ache of not being truly known

  • The kind of strength you don’t give yourself enough credit for

If you’ve ever felt like you’re floating between places, identities, or chapters, this one’s for you.

I also share why I created Third Spaces—a virtual support circle for women navigating life abroad, re-entry, or the in-between.

It’s not a course. It’s not therapy. It’s just a soft space to land.

Episode 3 | Home Is Wherever I'm With Me feat. Nicole Bryan

In this first guest episode of Hōmish, Anna sits down with her childhood friend Nicole Bryan to talk about what it means to make home in unexpected places, and what it means to come back.

Nicole’s journey has taken her, quite literally, around the world. From small-town Tennessee to the Peace Corps in Madagascar, a cross-cultural relationship, a season in South Korea, and back again, her story is shaped by the complexities of culture, identity, and belonging.

This episode is about becoming someone you're proud to come home to. About the quiet courage it takes to hold life with open hands. About loving deeply, letting go, and trusting that even impermanence can be sacred.

If you want to connect with Nicole, she's is also in the middle of a no-buy year where she’s documenting her journey toward intentional style, ethical fashion, and mindful consumption. And yes, it is *very* cool. You can follow her on Instagram and TikTok at @foreverabaobab

Episode 2 | Catching Crawdads

In this episode of Hōmish, I'm taking you on a nostalgic journey back to childhood summers, filled with church picnics, homemade cobbler, creeks, and of course, crawdads.

I'll share my personal insights on reorienting life when the path forward becomes murky, offering practical tips on journaling, self-trust, and finding joy in the little things.

Join me for a heartfelt conversation on navigating life's uncertainties and reconnecting with what feels like home.

Episode 1 | Another Again

New name, same standard flail.

Welcome to Hōmish, ya'll! After taking a [very long] break from podcasting to sort out some major life updates, I'm back with a whole new spiel.

In this episode, I'm filling you in on where I've been for the past 1.5 years and why I wanted to start something new. There's also a pretty YUGE announcement, so make sure you listen carefully. Much love, my sweet summer children.

8 | Q&A

You asked. I answered. Because that's how Q&As work.

On this first episode in the year of our Lord 2023, I'm covering everything from what makes me happy everyday to future plans (Korea? No Korea?) and even sharing some things I've never ever talked about. Well, at least never talked about with strangers on the internet.

This was a hard one, so I ask that you listen with grace, care and compassion -- and perhaps on 1.5 speed because there's a time commitment required here, fam.

7 | What a Journey

For the past ten years or so, I've either lived abroad or been traveling -- a lot -- sometimes doing both at the same time. So, I'm no stranger to travel days. But this one... it made me check my salvation. On today's episode, join me on my treacherous 8-hour* journey for what was, hands down, the WORST travel day of my life.

*denotes a complete lie

6 | Is This the Bad Place?

This may come as a surprise to some of you, but… life abroad isn’t always just sipping lattes at the local raccoon cafe with Kpop stars. I know, disappointing. In Seoul, that kind of thing only happens every third Wednesday.

My point is, you don’t get to just roll up from wherever and do whatever. If you want to stay long-term in any country that you don’t have a passport for, you have to secure something called and visa. And most long-term visas require a trip to a dark place — the immigration office. Today, I’m bringing you along for the ride.

Join me if you dare. 😈

5 | Be Mine (or something like that)

♥️ Let’s talk about Valentine’s Day! ♥️

Today I’m taking a little stroll down memory lane and sharing some stories from WAY past Valentine’s Days. They’re cute, but more importantly, they're cringey. And I want to hear yours, too! Share your Feb 14 blunders with me on Instagram and I’ll pick a few to feature on the next episode.

May your Heart Day be happy!

Once upon a time I kept having dreams about finally being able to leave Korea and visit my family in the states, and then getting the “ick” while I was there. And guess what… it really happened! This episode is all about that story, the massive mental spiral I experienced, how testing positive impacted my life and my return plans.

2 | Comparison, Competition, and New Beauty Standards

It's not difficult to see why Seoul is often considered the beauty capital of the world. There is a very specific beauty standard here -- and it's a standard that I don't fit. But, do I even have to?

In today's episode I'm telling the stories behind the beauty standards:

- What it was like growing up in a highly competitive environment

- Ways comparison scripts our self-talk

- How competition robs us of meaningful connection

We'll also talk about some practical steps to take in re-wiring these thoughts and ultimately, creating your own standard. Thanks for joining!

We’re starting off with a spicy one! In today’s story I talk about the [kinda dramatic] way I started my life in Seoul, toxic work cultures, relationships, and what I’ve learned from my own deep loneliness.
