Questions in this Episode:

1. I can never “stick to a Bible reading plan or with a Bible.”

2. How can I believe God won't give up on me when I feel like I'm constantly failing and don't deserve His love?

3. What do you do when your feelings seem to be affecting your faith?

4. How do we discern when someone has committed “sin leading to death?” (1 John 5:16)

5. Do humans have “unalienable rights?” Is this a biblical idea?

6. How do you cut off a sin that is entirely in your mind and doesn't seem to be stemming from watching/reading/consuming ungodly things?

7. How can finite man accrue an infinite debt? Does the answer rest solely on the utter holiness of God or am I an error in my thinking elsewhere?

8. Will Jesus be the only one in heaven with scars? Thomas saw scars on his body after he was raised

9. Should a Christian be patriotic or have national pride?

10. How should a Christian engage in politics? What are some pitfalls to avoid?

11. Is it sinful for a Christian to vote for a political party that promotes transgenderism and abortion?

12. In John 1:24 the Pharisee’s ask John why he baptized if he is not the Christ or Elijah, or a Prophet. What was their understanding and experience of baptism? Why wasn’t their question, “what are you doing?” ;) What was their context for baptism?

13. When a man died without children, his closest kinsman was to take his wife and raise up children for him, so his family line would continue. I've always thought that the first son would inherit the first husband's property, and any later children would get the second's (if she was the kinsman's only wife), so why is David's and Jesus' genealogy through Boaz rather than Elimelech's son?

14. I have a few friends who are Messianic Jews. They believe that Jesus is the Messiah, but not that he was God. Is it possible to be truly saved if you don't believe that Jesus is God?

15. Will there be days / weeks / months or years in heaven?

16. Does the Bible specify who will hear from the Lord, “well done good and faithful servant”?

17. In heaven, will you still be a parent of your child?

18. I believe that babies and infants who die very young go to heaven, but what form will they be in when we see them in heaven after we die? For example a first trimester miscarriage or couple month old baby? Will they still be in that stage of development?

19. What should the role of fasting be in our spiritual lives as modern Christians?

20. James 1:4 - use of the 2nd “perfect” … “perfect work” is talking about the Holy Spirit working in us, but the 2nd time “you may be perfect and complete” - are we working for perfection?

Questions in this Episode:

1. In 1 Corinthians 11:29-30 Paul states that people had died because they were “not discerning the body.” I’ve seen people argue that this supports a more literal view of communion because of the severity of the correction and the language in the passage. Are there any good refutations to this?

2. How do we go through life through the Lord’s strength?

3. Is it wrong to be skeptical of the Forrest Frank back healing story? Some of my friends who have tweens who love Forrest Frank are floored over this story, and I feel very skeptical!

4. Are Old Testament saints considered “dead in Christ”? Will they rise at the rapture? If not, when would we believe their resurrection would take place?

5. How should we as Christians under the new covenant treat the sabbath (a day of rest)? Is it required to have a sabbath as it is listed in the Ten Commandments?

6. How do you biblically think through and defend Unlimited Atonement and how to combat biblically the accusations like double payment and Jesus giving a ransom knowing sinful people won’t accept it?

7. How is Penal Substitution protected within Unlimited atonement?

8. Are we still under the Genesis 1:26-27 mandate? How do we think through hermeneutically which commands in the OT still apply to us today?

Questions in this Episode:

1. Is there biblical evidence that the world is a sphere and not flat?

2. How can I understand making no provision for the flesh (Rom 13:14) without delving into the realm of legalism in dating relationships?

3. I often see Christian social media influences talking about anointing their home in oil. Is this a practice we should be doing? Or is this old law?

4. I was in discussion with someone recently who said it's very important that I accept that there were more than three crosses on the hill the day that Jesus died. Where did this view come from? Is this a jab at the sufficiency of scripture? Does it matter?

5. In light of the recent passing of John MacArthur, what is something that has impacted you from his ministry/life of faith?

6. What has your biggest encouragement been as a pastor while serving as a pastor at GBC?

7. Can you sin in your dreams while you're sleeping, and how do you repent and turn away from those sins?

8. How should Christians think about IVF?

9. What does the term "vanity" mean in Ecclesiastes?

Episode 6: Q&A

Questions in this Episode

1: I know some who believe that Jewish people, those who believe the Messiah is yet to come, will go to heaven because they are God's chosen people - referencing some parts in Revelation. I also know that all must get to heaven through Jesus Christ (salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone). Will all Israelites be saved in the end?"

2: Genesis 12:3 and Numbers 24:9 both mention blessings for those that bless Israel. Is this promise still in effect today?

3: How do you reconcile Romans 14 and 1 Corinthians 5, along with other scriptures that say to judge righteously those who are in the body of Christ and others (like Romans 14:10) that seem to say that we should not judge?

4: What is Repentance?

5: If circumcision is a heart issue for men, what is the equivalent for women?

6: Please discuss why living together before marriage is wrong even if, hypothetically, Christian couples were to abstain from sexual relations until marriage. I hear a lot folks (including me) mainly use the argument that living together is wrong because it tempts couples to have sex (and in most cases, if not all, they end up having sex), but I’ve been in a situation when confronting a Christian couple about their cohabiting and they’ve told me they haven’t had sex. I found myself caught off guard and didn’t have good biblical arguments for why cohabiting was still wrong.

7: Where did Moses say that the Christ must suffer and rise from the dead (Acts 26:22-23)? Furthermore, how was Moses able to see the reproach of Christ (Heb. 11:26)?

8: We know Jesus' body was in the tomb the 3 days he was dead, but where was Jesus' soul during that time?

9: “How do we rightly determine what Old Testament promises apply to us as believers today?” Some of the promises, even of commonly quoted passages, seem to be in specific scenarios to Israel specifically, or are future to Israel specifically. Yet I also know from Romans 15:4 that the things that were written beforehand were written for our learning so that we can have hope, and that all Scripture is written by God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, so these promises are included in this as well.

10: Will we ever be able to see the Holy Spirit?

11: If the Trinity is all omniscient, then why/how does only God the Father know when Jesus will return?

12: Was Lot’s wife a Christian?
