#19B Intermediate - My best trip ever - Part 1 (Normal pace)

Chuyến đi tuyệt vời nhất của mình - Phần 1 (My best trip ever - Part 1)

Hi friends,

As I promised in the last episode, today I’m gonna tell you about my best trip ever. It was a trip to Ha Giang 3 months ago. For me personally, Ha Giang is the most beautiful place in Vietnam that you must visit, especially those of you who like adventures.

This story is divided into 2 parts and today is part 1 which is pretty scary to me. If you finish this part and are curious about what's next, stay tuned for next week!

In this episode, I’m gonna walk you through the periods of the history of Hoi An, which was set up in the 16th century, thrived in the 17th and the 18th centuries and declined in the 19th century. It has been revived since the 20th century. Despite the rapid urbanization of the whole country in the 20th century, Hoi An luckily was not affected. And then In 1999, Hoi An ancient town was recognised by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage Site.

#10B Elementary - An all-the-time-late person (Normal pace)

Thánh cao su (An all-the-time-late person)

Literal meaning: Rubber God (Thánh = God; Cao su = rubber)

In Vietnam, being late is a bad habit for many people. It’s too common so we have a special slang for it which is “giờ cao su” (rubber time). If someone is “cao su”, it means he/she is late. You probably see that some people are often late for 5 minutes, 10 minutes, or even an hour.

This episode tells you a few situations that you may probably experience at least one time if you live in Vietnam.

It’s about a couple of Chi and Hung. One person is always late and the other one can’t stand it. Listen now to figure out who is “cao su” then imagine what you would do if you were the other one!
