Ep72- The Sermon on the mount
On this episode of the Gnostic Deluge, we discuss the most famous text in Christianity- the Semon on the mount (Matthew 5-7).  In it, Jesus lays out the blueprint of how his followers are to act.  It goes much deeper than the common things that are quoted and known by most people.  Hopefully our discussion will make you think on just what attitudes one needs to cultivate to be a true follower of Christ according to His own words. Enjoy!

Ep 54-Mormon"Book of Abraham"
Om this episode of the Gnostic Deluge we continue to look at the Mormon psuedepigraphical "Pearl of Great Price".  Joseph Smith purchased four genuine egyptian mummies and some papyrus with genuine hieroglyphic writing  in July of 1835.  He soon after said that the papyrus contained the writing of Abraham while he was in Egypt , written by his own hand upon papyrus. In 1842 he published the translation as the Book of Abraham which is now part of the LDS churches Pearl of Great Price and canonized scripture for the church.  Somethings we talk about in this episode will sound familiar, while others will be new and esoteric.  Enjoy!   Complete Pearl of Great Price: Pearl of Great Price (churchofjesuschrist.org) Facsimiles found in the Book of Abraham: Facsimile 1 : Facsimile 1 (churchofjesuschrist.org) Facsimile2: Facsimile 2 (churchofjesuschrist.org) Wiki link about Hypocephali which Facsimile 2 is an example- Hypocephalus - Wikipedia Facsimile3: Facsimile 3 (churchofjesuschrist.org)

Ep53-Book of Moses Pt2- Latter-day Enoch
On this Episode of the Gnostic Deluge we finish up the Book of Moses.  The focus is on Enoch and his dream visions and preaching.  Enoch is only briefly mentioned in the Bible (only 5 verses), so Joseph Smith's inspired bible translation vastly expands the story.  We compare some of the similarities found in other Pseudepigraphic texts like The book of Enoch, Jasher, and Book of the Giants.  Also, we get a larger view on the Mormon plan of Salvation.  Enjoy!
