Today Caitlyn de Beer chats to pastor Matt Knight, the co-author of her new book, At the Well: a family devotional.
Listen as the duo share how the need for such a devotional arose and how they see a tool, much like this one, helping families to do life well, with God and each other!
Today's episode features Caitlyn's latest sermon. This sermon was part of a series on Healthy Relationships at Olive Tree Church in Florida Road. Caitlyn shares truth taken from the life of Jesus and his example of friendship done well.
Enjoy xx
Today I got to chat to Kerry, the founder of @upperhighwaybabyhome
This woman is a gift to our Upper Highway community and I love her insights shared today on ADOPTION, all from her own personal experience as a mum of an adopted
 daughter and a baby-home founder.
Enjoy xx
Todays episode is with Lauren from @meet_events_sa and Meg’s from @goodnightbabysa
We talk about an exciting event for mums in Pretoria and online.. and then go on to have such a lovely chat to Megs about helpful rhythms that lead to GOOD sleep, for kids of all ages!!
I can highly recommend using Meg as a consultant if you’re needing help with your baby/child’s sleep 💤
Today’s episode is an interview between Caitlyn and her pastor Matt Knight. Matt shares a beautiful word on how we as believers are created to enjoy God and enjoy more of God.
This conversation is colloquial making for easy listening whilst being packed with nuggets of truth and depth.

Tes is a wife, pastor and a mom of 4 and truly one of the women that I, Caitlyn, most look up to. She recently lost her beloved dad unexpectedly and in today's episode she shares her devastating jounrye with grief.
Be encouraged today as you gain insight into the world of an 'ordinary' girl who is seeking extraordinary Jesus amidst her anguish and finding his deep comfort to be enough to sustain her.

Cary Edwards, her mum and daughter recently released their book, Stars in the Desert, and today we get to chat all things book related. Join us to hear Cary's story of how her and her mums journeys with cancer inspired the writing of this book. They have both had to dig deep to find stars in the desert seasons of their lives and this book is a devotional style book, leading you as you too search for those stars in the harder seasons of life.
Enjoy xx
Perhaps like me, as your emotional discomfort has increased over the last few years, your coping mechanisms may not have. If you look back - I have no doubt that one day over the past couple years, you instinctively reached into your resilience bucket hoping to pull out your next best coping-mechanism, only to find that you'd reach the bottom of the bucket. Friend, it was likely then, that your scales tipped! What does one do when your emotional instability or your emotional distress is matched with a resilience bucket that has no coping mechanism left inside of it, to fulfill or meet your needs? You do what every person in the history of the world has learnt to do, you buy into the premise that if you simply don’t feel anything at all any longer well then surely you’ve tackled this dilemma. It’s your safest option, your quickest fix, your strongest Band-Aid. You embrace ‘numbing’.
I'm here today to share that NUMBING isn't just preventing pain, it's preventing JOY too. Hear me out :)

In the world we live in today, it's not a common practice to have heroes and yet right here, today on Girl, it's Time, I got to interview one of mine. Cindy Norcott is a business coach, successful entrepreneur, a wife, a mum and the founder and CEO of the well-known and loved, Robinhood Foundation. Today's episode tells her story of why and how she started SOMETHING and how each of us has the potential to do just the same. There are gaps in your society that you're noticing; friend, this is likely where you're called to act.
Enjoy this episode friends,

If ever there were a woman who has gone against the grain, here she is. Nehneh Shange lives and works in Kwadabeka area in the Valley of 1000 Hills. Although coming from a poor background, she managed to qualify with 2 degrees before beginning her teaching journey. It was then that God began to stir her heart to do MORE for her community. This woman has faced challenge after challenge and yet still humbly stands with such dignity as she talks about the Private School that she has started on the next-door property to her home. Isambulo College is remarkable. It deserves our attention and my prayer is that the model behind this school would in time be replicated in other areas too.
Those wanting to pledge financially towards Isambulo College - Please consider donating via this link, Ref: Isambulo.

Today on Girl, it's Time, Caitlyn chats to Fran Steart. Fran is a local KZN dietician, wife and mom.
Frans heart wrenching story touched Caitlyn so deeply at a recent event where they were both speakers. In todays episode, Fran tells her story. She shares her story- raw and real. She shares of her beautiful, deep faith, she shares of learning to let go of dreams once real but too of what it looked like when those dreams were reignited in her heart. This episode will move you. We have no doubt. We have chosen to leave the episode unedited as we believe that Frans raw emotion is such a big part of her story of embracing vulnerability. No, the type we share after we've conquered a battle and come out on the other side. The real hard stuff. Sharing raw emotion, deep pain and utter despair, even while we're still in it.
May her story touch your heart as it has ours.
If anyone would like to get in touch with Fran for support or to invite her to share her story at an event/online platform, you are welcome to email her at fransteartdietitian@gmail.com.
There are moments that each of us know will stick with us for a long long time. Meeting Jodi Kroone was one of those for me.
Jodie is a beautiful 28 year old, who is wheelchair bound due to a car accident that happened 5 years ago. And yet despite her obvious discomfort and the challenges that each day holds for her, she embraces life like few I know.
In this episode, Caitlyn (me) and Jodie have an honest conversation about her journey in owning her story, tell it, and embracing it. It's an episode that I know that you'll love and want to share with everyone you know. She is one incredible girl and inspires us to live fully here in the now, despite discomfort or uncertainty. It's beautiful!!
Jodi - You are nothing short of inspirational. You challenge me to my core to live my life on purpose each day. Thank you for the gift that you are!
Caitlyn preaches regularly and for this episode, she decided to share one of her latest preaches with you. So bare with her, as live one was obviously live. Caitlyn speaks into the space of 'How one can starting noticing & acting on the opportunities that God presents us with everyday, to shine His light in this world.'
This episode is packed with truth, laughs, stories and depth. Here's a nugget from this episode to get you thinking... 'You cannot hide from the sun to escape darkness.. YET how many of us are doing just this? We're living busier lives in order to avoid the obvious darkness around us.'
Enjoy

This Interview with Natasja Foster will leave you inspired to your core. Tash's story begins with her sharing of her venturing into Africa and living with a poor Malawian family, on a mission trip.. but it was the head of this Malawian family's response to Tash's question "How can people back home help you?" that opened up the call God was stirring in her heart.
I have been deeply and profoundly challenged by Tash's sorry and the question as to what fruit God will produce in us, if only we'll TRUST HIM. I'm trusting that you will be too!!
Here is a direct link to Bibles Beyond Borders for those who's hearts were stirred and want to get involved in this incredible ministry.
Doctor Rosanne Symons is a mom of 5 teenagers and a medical doctor based in Durban, South Africa. I had the honour of hearing her story at a recent conference and it spoke to me so deeply that I couldn’t but ask her to share it with my audience.
Friends, this incredible woman felt the call of God to the Syrian nation, and her first trip to this land was during their war. She treated broken bodies and crushed spirits there 10 years ago, and has since been on a number of trips back to the surrounding countries (as the Syrian borders have since remained closed) to minister love to these war-stricken souls.
I encourage you to listen right until the end of this episode as her words not only inspire you but too minister to your heart about what it is that God is calling you to, and how to figure out what it is that makes YOU come alive, too.
And then, lastly, Rose is off to Syria-itself next month for the first time since her very first trip, as the borders have recently reopened due to their latest earthquake and the medical needs of its people. I know that she would NEVER ask this, and yet I too know that she self-funds these trips and that whilst many of us don’t feel called to the ‘mission field’ itself, we do feel called to financially contribute towards the lives and trips of those God is calling there. If this is you and you’d like to be a part of getting Rose to Syria, my account details are below for the Foundation I run.

"Adoption is an incredible privilege."
When you listen to Des say these words during today's live it should resonate with you as a Christian. It is a privilege that God would want us.
How many adoption stories have you heard filled with grief, pain, and insecurities... Maybe the comment, "...but they didn't want me." when referring to their biological parents. But the truth is, the beauty, the privilege is... "Someone else did!" Someone, somewhere still wanted, chose and called you to be their family. Their heir. Their son or daughter and that is a true privilege.
Des, thank you for being so raw with us about your story today. Listening to this will leave a huge mark on you as you tackle this theme of Identity the month of February.

In today's message, Caitlyn opens up her heart and shares insight that she’s had in the aftermath of the flooding in KZN.
