This week on the pod... Gordon Webb from Shazamme.. An absolute top bloke and horse Dad! (you will get that if you listen)...
This weeks episode was recorded on the road at the RecExpo.. We managed to convince Gordon to sneak off the Shazamme stand to have a chat for an hour..
We did have some technical challenges with this episode.. The audio died on us twice and the video once but that doesn't stop it being a cracker of an Ep.. Gordan was a top guest from start to finish and there's actually a bit of value in here for those recruiters that listen.
Shazamme are all about 'Recruitment Websites' they brand themselves as the Canva of recruitment, so if you're in the early stages of setting up give them a look. Alongside some insightful chat about building recruitment websites we also Gordon's life as a 'Horse Dad' and how he had a disaster making a special gift for us...
I hear we will still get our hands on it though and as my mum always says.. 'It's the though that counts'
Thanks for coming on Gordon!!!
The two words I had for this weeks guest were 'Pocket Rocket' We nabbed Michelle for a chat after her on stage breath work session at the agency expo and this chat was a delight from start to finish.. Michelle, is a Health and Performance coach! She's racked up over 5,000 of coaching taking recruitment teams from average to great making sure they don't burnout along the way. That's where the breath work and meditation stuff comes into play (I'm a fan). This chat with Michelle felt like a laugh from the off, the conversation seemed to twist and turn, starting with her time in Bristol studying maths, through to 'falling into recruitment', dealing with illness through to landing where she is today as a performance and breath work coach. I had a right laugh filming it... Somehow we ended up debating the question 'You've got 5 balls to bowl a strike... If you hit you land €5 million, if you miss, you turn into a dog'.... This then resulted in me taking Andy down to the bowling alley to see if he could land a strike in 5 balls, so hang around to the end of the podcast if you want to see how he got on. Enjoy x
Okay, so I have made a bit of a hash of things this week...
Somehow last week, I managed to upload the correct video with the wrong audio on it.. God knows how...
So in a rush to get it back up, I am going to give you less of a synopsis this week.. but not sure how many of you read these things anyway..
What I can tell you is it's the two of us this week, we talk quite a bit about the recruitment expo and have a conversation about 10,000 rats.
Enjoy x
We're back from a break.... Well to you lovely people it won't feel like a break as we had a bank of content for you to keep you entertain whilst we were gone.
As we'd not seen each other for a couple of weeks, there was plenty to catch up on and this week you will learn about:
- Our new podcast sponsor
- My run in with nudists in the sand dunes
- How we both struggled with yoga on holiday
- An awkward massage
- Our brand new podcast segment!
Welcome back to the recruitment industries most informative podcast by the way!
Enjoy x
It's back to just the two of us... (We can make it if we try)
After a couple of weeks of guests we sat down as a pair and got one episode in before the Giig holidays kick in...
Welcome back to the recruitment industries most informative podcast btw!
This week we chat about:
- My run in with the dummy fairies
- The sad loss of one of the Giig family members
- How we've caught one of our listeners doing something they shouldn't be doing
- How there's a class divide forming between the Giig team
- How you can tell which fish is the most fishier fish!
Enjoy
We dropped the ball this week on the podcast!
This is the first time we have not had a gift for the guest... Made even worse by the fact that the guest (Christian Mather) had a gift for us.
His gift was a book "The Psychology of Money" which ties in very nicely to his world and his business 'One Day Wealth'..
Which is all about making sure that recruiters have a game plan for their finances before they throw in the towel. As a small business owner it's important to have a contingency plan so that you're financially covered when the time comes to hang up your boots.
The fact that we didn't have a gift didn't seem to deter Christian... I have to say that he has one of the most infections laughs I think you will ever hear so between the pair of us, it's quite the racket!
I hope you enjoy x

This week we've got Mike Martindale our first ever recruiter! About time.. Mike's company is Orange Monkey Recruitment and his focus is delivering engineering talent into UK based firms.
When first launched this pod the aim was to get recruitment Founders on to share their stories and Mike's was a solid first go... His story started in Thailand teaching English, went through his early career... including how he got sacked for Playstation and came through to where he is today running his own business, solely on LinkedIn automation and no cold calling outreach!
It's a goodie,

This week on the pod, we spend more time that we should talking about things that Andy likes to Sniff...
It's been a couple of weeks since we've had the chance to catch up, so there was lots to natter about... Andy's had a gold tournament, we've been down to Bude and I've been to a wedding.
When it comes to all Giig related things, Andy's taken some customer feedback to heart recently, I am still ticking away at our new website and we've made an official call out to see more women on the pod....

Welcome Back To The Recruitment Industries Most Informative Podcast...
This week on the pod you're back to just the two of us... We kicked off this week with a weird request from a potential user...
We had some weird activity from my mum when she came to say, a weird comment from Andy's teacher..
Come to think of it there was a few weird things to talk about in this weeks episode... In amongst the weirdness, we also did talk a bit about intellectual stuff .. I have decided that I am going to start reading again and we did have a bit of chat about the new book I'm getting into... Although there wasn't a huge amount to tell, I've only read a couple of chapters so far...
Anyway... Enjoy x
Welcome Back To The Recruitment Industries Most Informative Podcast!
This week James Whitelock from 'Think In Circles' paid us a visit... James is an Artist that somehow found his way into working with recruiters and for the last 13 years has been working as a marketer feeding into recruitment agencies and recruitment tech companies!
As always on this pod we spent more time talking about his background from kicking things off in Luton, through to his uni days in Sunderland, his tatts, his strongman mission, his DJ ambitions and where he thinks he's going to take 'Think In Circles' over the next couple of years...
I had a blast recording this one... At one point I thought I was running the risk of offending him but we got through that and there was some decent laughs from start to finish!!!!

This week we're back to just the two of us on the pod, after a big trip out to Brewdog in Waterloo we're back from the fancy podcast studio to the sofa.....
As it's been a while since the pair of us have caught up we had lots of informative recruitment content for you....
Including:
- Discovering why it took us so long to download the podcast from Brewdog
- What the different types of smarts are
- Who's going to be the new face of Berko Cycling club
- How Andy's could have avoided a month of aggro related to an iPhone.
- How after I'd reversed Sarah's car into the house she's now been rear ended
- How I've had a recent run in with the local hooligans

Welcome Back To The Recruitment Industries Most Informative Podcast!
This week we had another big trip out to record in a big boy studio in Brewdog Waterloo for a couple of beers and a sit-down with Andy Dunne, Managing Director of the TEAM Network.
10 months ago we struck up a partnership with TEAM and it was nice to finally sit down face-to-face with Andy after working together over the last year.
For those who don't know The TEAM Network:They're one of the UK's best-kept secrets in recruitment - a collaborative network that's been supporting recruitment entrepreneurs to make a success of launching solo or growing a recruitment agency.
Instead of the cutthroat, competitive approach, TEAMs trying to flip the narrative and create collaboration between ambitious businesses.
As a Start-Up TEAM are our first partnership and I would say that we've got off to a flyer..
Lots of our Giig users are also members of TEAM and the things that our users love about the network are:
Around all the TEAM/Giig chit chat we also spoke about:

This week on the podcast, we had an accidental guest... She stuck her head in early doors, we tried to get her to stay but not sure she was overly keen.
After she departed we got down to the important conversation topics:
- If you can smell burnt toast is it a sign you're having a stroke?
- Luke's crash in Sarah's car
- An upcoming charity event
- Chasing the Sun
- Andy's Lunchbox
- Becoming part of Team Muppets
- Thinking about a theme for the TEAM annual conference

Welcome Back To The Recruitment Industries Most Informative Podcast....
This week on the pod, we're joined by 'Mike Hennan' our weirdest podcast guest so far...
Reason I say Mike is a weird guest is because he's not from the recruitment world..
He actually works in Pumps and Compressors...
I've known Mike for around 15/16 years. I was introd to him by one of my ex girlfriends way back when.
A couple of years ago, Mike, James & I were all building separate businesses at the same time and ended up buddying up to support each other.
A few weeks ago, I'd been called back to Essex to look after the cats for my mum so dropped Mike a text to ask if he fancied meeting up and coming on the pod...
Which is how we've ended up here.
As is common place on this pod the recruitment chat is limited. I would say this episode feels more like a couple of mates catching up but maybe there is the odd sprinkling of something useful in there...

This week we're back to the two of us!
It's been a while since it's just been the pair of us catching up...
The thought-provoking conversation has be switched back to waffle...
This pod was recorded on my birthday, so there's a bit of birthday chat in there...
Andy forces me to open my presents on the pod... Which resulted in a positive experience that includes a duck...

Welcome back to the recruitment industries most informative podcast!!!!
This week on the pod we're joined by Nitin Sharma, the founder of Rec Talk, rectools and Rec Circles...
Basically if you find anything with 'Rec' in front of it, there's every chance that Nitin has something to do with it!
As he's the voice of the fastest growing Recruitment Podcast we naturally spent a lot of time talking about content creation and how building a content machine can help you build trust better than an outbound model...
After the initial business chat, we got into the juicy stuff....
Nitin used to be a Pro Wrestler... Now I can't be certain but I am pretty sure he's never spoken about this before, so we got an inside scoop into his Wrestling career!!!
Enjoy x
Last week I was back in Essex, dog sitting for my Auntie and Uncle... One of the benefits of this remote working is I can double up as a dog sitter and as I was back in Essex...
Samwise got the call-up,
I would say the tone of this pod is slightly different... We've dropped Andy for the first time, and we spent our time chatting about:
- Family
- How we met each other
- Why Samwise joined Giig
- Mental health
- Going on holiday
It gets deep and meaningful. I hope you enjoy it!
We went to a farm!!!!
Initially, today's guest cancelled on us,
When he said he was keen to reschedule and asked if we wanted to film it on the farm, we jumped at it.
Packed up all our bits and made our way to an undisclosed location where we were greeted by a man with a beard surrounded by Sheep.
That man was Jeremy Snell, the Founder of Rookie2Recruiter...
In traditional Giig It A Rest Fashion, we spent the majority of this episode chatting about Sheep, Farms, Music, Glastonbury, Moths, and we even had a quiz....
Amongst all of that, we did chat about his journey from starting out as a recruitment consultant through to where he is today running Rookie 2 Recruiter...
He also gave us sausages!
Enjoy x
This week on the Recruitment Industries' most informative podcast....
It's all about holidays,
Andy has been away sunning himself in Italy, and obviously I wanted to hear all about that... So that was the topic of conversation for the majority of today's episode.
Around that we also waffled about:
- Andy's new games
- Andy's run in with a scorpion
- Luke's plan to send saws to the Ukraine
- Some suggestions for our new Giig slogan
- Our new job board partnership
Welcome back to the recruitment industry's most informative podcast!
This week we've had a big weekend out and about. Saturday was our 200K cycle, whilst on Sunday we headed off to Wembley to watch the Shrimpers in the playoff final...
Sorry in advance, as this week's pod might be a little cycling and football heavy, other bits we talk about:
- Sewing badges into your swimming trunks
- Luke making a mess of a puncture
- Making a new friend on our 200K ride
- Meeting the parents
- Watching middle-aged men get rattled by a bunch of kids
- Getting the car back on the road
- Customisation
- Who does Luke remind Andy of?
Enjoy x
