We’re in our Summer of Stories series. This week, Steve Rumschlag, pastor of Turning Point church in Findlay, Ohio, helps us consider priests and the priesthood. We’re still in our Summer of Stories series. Dr. Ian Vaillancourt walks us through the story of the land. This is a major theme in the Old Testament. Dr. Vaillancourt uses the book of Joshua as his base text. Tom and Ian’s conversation today is based on chapter one of Ian's new book Unfolding Redemption: The Heart of the Gospel in Old Testament History. This book follows the storyline of the Old Testament after the Pentateuch and explains how the gospel connects to the Old Testament.

We’re in our summer of stories series. We’ve been talking about Samson. Last week, Brad Nutt, pastor of Fort William Baptist Church in Thunder Bay, Ontario, led us through Judges 13, where we read Samson’s birth story. There was a lot in that podcast about how we should apply Judges and the story of Samson’s birth to our own lives. That chapter leads the reader to expect great things from Samson. He is a man who, according to the angel, is to be marked by holiness to the Lord. Instead, as we read today, this man is tortured by his own unsatisfied lusts. But Yahweh, in spite of Samson’s madness, is using this man. He is getting his way.

Today, Tom Kelby and Brad Nutt, pastor of Fort William Baptist Church in Thunder Bay, Ontario, work through Judges 13. The chapter is about Samson’s birth, but you’ll find much more than a consideration of a birth story here. Nutt helps us apply this chapter, and the entire book of Judges, to our own lives.
