Hi, my name is Julie. My online alias is Cornflower Woman. I've always been a nonconformist--not for the sake of intentionally not conforming, but because no matter how hard I try to fit in, my compulsion for freedom and independence always overpowers my desire for acceptance through assimilation. I guess you could say, from that perspective, I embody the American Spirit--the spirit that insists on individual autonomy and freedom from tyranny. It's that spirit which has compelled me to launch this series because I believe we each deserve to be our own masters of independent critical thought.

Freedom of Thought
My History with Jesus and Induction to Wokeness
The spirit of Jesus was not present in church, so I left, in an attempt to find it elsewhere. Not long after, I joined Twitter. I found myself drawn to the Exvangelical community, and I found, for the first time in ages, a community of like minded people, who sought the spirit of Christ in church, but did not find it. I immersed myself in this particular corner of Twitter, and it didn’t take long for me to absorb a new set of social and moral norms. At first, I believed this group embodied grace, love, mercy, and compassion, and it did--towards those groups marginalized by evangelical culture--those condemned for sexual deviance or political divergence. However, it became apparent that the group lacked tolerance for anyone who didn’t subscribe to its moral ideals.

Freedom of Thought
CRT: My Understanding
After enduring an intense “accountability” (ie, harassing cancel) campaign on Instagram, I decided it might be prudent to investigate the source of the ideology driving the movement against me. Turns out the source is CRT. In this episode I explain my understanding of the fundamentals of this legal critical theory.
