This is a hard episode to publish. Often times we are asked to let go of the old before the new can be born. On the final episode of FAR OUT we share why we feel it's time to let go of FAR OUT. Deep thanks to everyone who has been a part of this wonderful journey.
When we began apprenticing with ayahuasqueros three years ago, we stepped into a period of intensive training. That training has deepened and broadened over the past year to include other supportive and complementary modalities including men's and women's work, vision quests and for Alasdair, recently beginning a year-long training in Hakomi, a somatic psychotherapy.
Fresh off a five-week period of deep work, including guiding three, back-to-back-to-back retreats your cohosts reflect on marriage, "the work" and what's needed to shift our cultural consciousness.
What happens when Mystery calls? From the liminal, shapeshifting space of something coming to an end your cohosts explore what it means to open to new possibilities.
An hour after recording this episode, we sat down with people we care about for a very difficult conversation. In the spirit of talking about what's most alive for us on this podcast and being honest about the hard parts of our journey, we talk about the messy process of preparing for tough and stressful conversations where the stakes are often high.
As a culture we avoid talking about, expressing or feeling our anger. The closest we often get to it is saying we feel "frustrated" or "irritated." This inevitably leads to it spilling out sideways in unhealthy and unconscious ways. It also keeps us disconnected from a potent and vital source of energy. In this episode, we face our anger head on and discuss how we work with this tricky and powerful emotion.
From the Sonoran Desert in Arizona to the Rain Forest in the Pacific Northwest to the Hudson Valley in New York - your cohosts recap where their work has taken them, both externally and internally, over the month of March.
We discuss what happened to our relationships when we left home and began to travel and the ways we're returning---albeit differently---to community these days.
After discussing the World Cup final, we discuss the shifting landscape of work, the ways we are redefining work for ourselves and what it takes to hold a vision for the future.
Your cohosts share the practices they are returning to this winter season and explore important questions like: is it possible to take yourself seriously while rebounding? Is not remembering things a potential sign that you've realized a higher state of consciousness? And is yin yoga only for losers?
In a whimsical spirit this week, your cohosts share some life updates, rag on dermatologists and the Rings of Power and answer a handful of awkward "get to know you" questions.
