As a Jewish woman who had fled from the Nazis, Jella was determined to restore a sense of childhood to the young people who had only known conflict and violence. Despite constant obstacles, Jella persevered, and with the help of publishers and children from around the world, she amassed an extraordinary collection of 4,000 children’s books in pursuit of her mission to promote peace. The roving literary collection would eventually find a home as the International Youth Library in Munich, now with over 600,000 items, the largest collection of children’s books and materials in the world.   Jella Lepman and Her Library of Dreams is a thrilling and heartfelt exploration of one woman’s extraordinary belief in the power of books to transform young lives. Perfect for readers who enjoy biography, true adventure nonfiction, and empowering stories of women in history, this makes an outstanding addition to classroom and home libraries.

The Monarch Butterfly Migration: Its Rise and Fall by Monika Maeckle
Please visit https://thebookvoice.com/podcasts/1/audiobook/818763 to listen full audiobooks. Title: The Monarch Butterfly Migration: Its Rise and Fall Author: Monika Maeckle Narrator: Kate Coventry Format: Unabridged Audiobook Length: 8 hours 15 minutes Release date: November 19, 2024 Genres: Animals & Nature Publisher's Summary: Each fall, millions of monarch butterflies migrate from Canada to Mexico. The monarch migration is a demonstration of nature's ingenuity, but the delicate creatures face many perils, and the number of migrating monarchs is declining sharply. This book weaves natural history, science, and personal experience to explore the rise and fall of one of nature's most spectacular phenomena. While monarch butterflies have been migrating for centuries, they seized public attention in 1976 when a National Geographic magazine cover story featured the 'discovery' of their roosting sites in Mexico. The revelations put a spotlight on the insects and inspired the creation of butterfly sanctuaries in Mexico as well as efforts to protect them. Almost forty years later, many believe that monarch butterflies are in danger of extinction. Journalist and butterfly advocate Monika Maeckle delves into the rich history and current plight of the monarch butterfly. Maeckle offers unique insights on the butterflies as well as a nuanced portrait of the community of scientists, enthusiasts, and 'flutterati' who have emerged to support the monarchs. The Monarch Butterfly Migration focuses a wider lens on the effects of climate change and the tensions between advocacy and scientific accuracy. This book reminds us to notice the natural wonders in our own backyards.

Pursuing Success God’s Way: A Practical Guide to Hustle with Heart by Erin Harrigan
Please visit https://thebookvoice.com/podcasts/1/audiobook/825727 to listen full audiobooks. Title: Pursuing Success God’s Way: A Practical Guide to Hustle with Heart Author: Erin Harrigan Narrator: Erin Harrigan Format: Unabridged Audiobook Length: 4 hours 38 minutes Release date: October 16, 2024 Genres: Counseling & Inspirational Publisher's Summary: The world is noisy. Everywhere we turn we see what is expected of us, including in business. Messages about powerful women entrepreneurs bombard us: Boss Babe! Supermom! Mom Boss! We are taught to envision a life of prosperity, push ourselves to succeed, do whatever it takes, and strive for recognition. Those channels promise success and prosperity, yet what happens when the promise is unfulfilled? Not because we didn't succeed, but in the midst of our success. When I found myself hitting this successful-yet-something-was-missing wall, I was left feeling like there must be something wrong with me. Was I not focused enough? Did I not want "it" badly enough? Was I not willing to work hard enough? Was I not cut out to be an entrepreneur? These lies are just what the enemy wants us to believe, as he seeks to distract us from God's purpose by planting seeds of discouragement, doubt, and discontent in our minds. When some major setbacks led me to seek answers, I encountered Jesus. And that changed everything I knew about business. This audio book is for you if any of these resonate with you: •You are a successful entrepreneur (even if you believe you were, but aren't now), who feels she's lost her joy for the business •You feel like you're chasing the money but losing fulfillment, and you wonder what to do next •You're formerly of the corporate world, now translating all that drive, discipline, competitive edge, and resilience into your own business in search of hope and freedom •You seek to keep your relationship with Christ in the forefront as you build a business in the midst of drivers and strivers all around you. I wrote this audiobook to bring hope to women like you and me, who desire to make an impact for God's glory but aren't sure if it's possible (or even appropriate) to bridge faith and business. God gave us businesses to live out His purpose for us and to steward wisely. The only way to do this is with Him at the center, and that's how we Hustle with Heart.

[French] - La lettre écarlate by Nathaniel Hawthorne
Please visit https://thebookvoice.com/podcasts/1/audiobook/818530 to listen full audiobooks.

His attachment to the bizarre and dark was already forming. His education at the Lycée of Nantes earned him the 1st Prize for Excellence. In 1881, he was in Paris with his maternal uncle to study at the Lycée Louis-le-Grand. Schwob quickly developed his multilingual abilities and then studied philology and Sanscrit at the École pratique des hautes études before completing his military service in Vannes with the artillery. After completing a Bachelor of Arts in 1888 he became a professional journalist and worked for the Phare de la Loire, the Événement and L'Écho de Paris. The 1890’s marked his establishment as a brilliant writer with the publication of six short story collections. Intestinal surgery was given several times, at first with success but, by 1900, after two more surgeries, he was told that nothing more could be done for him. Schwob now existed on kefir and fermented milk.By the turn of the century, despite failing health, and often too ill to write, he embarked on several long travels, including to Vailima in the South Pacific where his literary hero Stevenson had died. Schwob was regarded as a symbolist writer and a ‘precursor of Surrealism’. He wrote over a hundred short stories, journalistic articles, essays, biographies, literary reviews and analysis, translations and plays. Marcel Schwob died on 26th February 1905 of Pneumonia. He was 37.
