It's been a while, but we're back.
No guests this time, just two GREAT guys, Colin Hoult and Pete Heat, having a bloody chat m8 about things that we deem epic m8.
Not epic in the modern sense: we're looking for something extraordinary, something inspirational;, something sublime. That's what we're trying to access here thank you VERY much, and we think we've found another couple of nuggets of the stuff.
This week Colin presents Pete with the works of musician Scott Walker, and Pete presents Colin with Bojack Horseman, a depressed cartoon horse. Have a listen to find out why.
We hope you like it...

In this week's DELIGHTFUL episode we are joined by comedy writer, author and podcaster Joel Morris where we talk vinyl, ADHD (ting!) and a lot more. Colin even gets cancelled, in realtime, by technology itself.
Joel Morris is on Twitter: www.twitter.com/gralefrit
and has a book out here: https://unbound.com/books/comedy-basic/

In what some are already calling “a good episode”, we are joined this week by comedian Lauren Pattison.
We talk about Paddington 2, horror films, the Rolling Stones Rock & Roll Circus, and 50p coins, but don’t let that put you off. It’s good
It's spooooooky season, so apolz if the scary opening kills anyone. It’s NOT for the weak hearted.

He's got a phenomenal beard. He's got a sell-out show. He's this week's guest, James Rowland, and we'll fight anyone who says he isn't.
This episode Colin Hoult and Pete Heat talk to James about subjects including swimming, Mitch Hedberg, Transformers the movie, WhatsApp, and, of COURSE, accountancy. The big 5.

and then go for a swim.

From the Beano to Bowie. From Ian Brown to Improv Comedy. This episode of Epic Things has it all, and when we say “it all”, we mean it has those four things.
No guests this time: just two hardened street thugs, Colin Hoult and Pete Heat, slugging it out in the ring we call Podcasting.
Pull up a pew. Pull up a… headphones. Get stuck in.
Colin talked about Bowie, and mentioned this video particularly: https://youtu.be/HyMm4rJemtI
Pete talked about improv, and mentioned this man: https://www.theguardian.com/stage/2021/aug/23/we-are-each-other-review-trevor-lock-summerhall-edinburgh

Rosie Holt is in the building.
If you have a Twitter account and/or a couple of eyeballs you’ve almost certainly seen her hilarious, pitch perfect satirical comedy clips on the internet. Or maybe you’ve seen her on stage, in theatres or at comedy clubs. Alternatively, it’s possible you’ve seen her somewhere else entirely, or not at all. Those are all the options.
Either way, here she is, with an Epic Thing to add to the pile: The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas
Colin gets political, Pete gets maudlin. Epic Things are afoot. It’s a good episode.

It’s got Colin Hoult. It’s got Pete Heat. It’s got soundwaves in digital form. That’s right: it’s a podcast, baby, and you can stick it in in your ears for a bit if you like.
In this episode we talk, as ever, about the wonders of existence, viewed through a lens comprised of things we like. Things you could even call “Epic”. This week, these things include the human body (well, most of it), plum wine served by a man with a square face, and a joyfully absurd hidden camera magic show.
We talk about this song: https://youtu.be/dH0WbrGAyH0, This video: https://youtu.be/8gxdjH3QjNU
This restaurant: https://tarorestaurants.uk/soho/
And some other stuff too probably. Pop a blanket on your shoulders and give it a bloody listen m8.

This week, Colin Hoult and Pete Heat are joined by their first guest. You may have seen her in After Life, in The End of The F***ing World, in Years and Years, in Tarot (her sketch trio), or in Wales, where she INSISTS she was raised. She’s called Kath Hughes, and she’s bloody lovely.
Join us as we attempt to grab hold of some gleaming nuggets of sublime beauty, before thrusting them, beaming, into each other’s faces as if to say “see! See! A thing! An Epic Thing!”
This week we talk about a TV show, a book, an 80s band, and some other stuff too if you don’t mind my saying so. See you on the other side.

In this, what critics are already calling the “third episode”, Colin Hoult and Pete Heat dredge up some more gleaming nuggets of gold from among the silt that is human existence.
Pete brings an arguably-too-vague subject to the table: The Universe itself. More specifically, the experience of being humbled by its infinite majesty, as presented to us in those photos that came out recently (https://www.skyatnightmagazine.com/space-missions/james-webb-space-telescope-images/), or broken down for us into bite-size chunks by people like professional Pete Heat lookalike Brian Cox.
Colin tells of an amazing theatrical experience that inspired his own work, a frankly insane-sounding piece by the Uninvited Guests ( https://www.uninvited-guests.net/projects/it-is-like-it-ought-to-be-a-pastoral )
In a show that covers gorillas, The Simpsons, speed awareness tests and the imminent transformation of all life forms into crabs, this is truly, without doubt, an episode of a podcast. This podcast.

Colin Hoult and Pete Heat present you, and each other, with bloody great nuggets of joy that lift them from the mundanity of everyday life and remind them that the human experience can actually be pretty snazzy
