We're back! Kind of...Bill released a solo episode to get something out there. He explains the situation in the episode.
Tonight, we're covering Eric Locke, an Irish ass clown who was born with a deformity in the nether regions. He later used that as an excuse for stalking and murdering a sweet woman, who actually pretended to care about this chucklehead, because she was a good person. He rewarded her kindness by killing her.
We will be back soon, but we don't have a specific date. Sorry, no video for this one.

These weren’t master criminals brought down by genius detectives—they were their own worst enemies. From Israel Keyes using his victim’s debit card at ATMs on camera, to Arthur Shawcross returning to the scene of the crime for a snack, to Dennis Nilsen casually calling a plumber about human remains in his drain—these guys practically handed themselves over. We’re cracking open a cold one and laughing through the jaw-dropping idiocy of killers who couldn’t help but leave a trail of breadcrumbs straight to prison. How did this walking disaster manage to cause so much chaos? And how did it all go up in smoke—literally?
Pour yourself a cold one and buckle up. This is one messof a story.

April 25th, 2025, I woke up to heartbreaking news. Todd Teal, My life long friend of 35+ years, as well as band mate, and the original co-host of CKCB had passed away from an apparent heart attack.
This episode is a tribute to Todd. I've taken segments from 7 episodes that stuck out in my mind, that were very funny, and put them in this episode. I've also included messages from his friends, as well as other podcasters who were on episodes with him.
Its a touching way for people to remember him, and hear and see him laughing and having fun. There's not just this. He was on over 90 episodes of this show. That's well over half the catalog! RIP, Brother...I'll catch you on the flip side.

You might remember him as the trigger man in Boyz in the Hood, but Lloyd Avery II’s story didn’t stop when the cameras stopped rolling.
In this episode of Crimes, Killers, Cults and Beer,we crack open a cold one and dive into the wild and tragic descent of a Hollywood actor who blurred the lines between fiction and reality.
Avery’s rise from South Central to the big screen was meteoric—and short-lived. What followed was a shocking spiral into gang life, a double homicide, and one of the most bizarre prison deaths we’ve ever covered. Fame, violence, and a brutal end—this is a story you won’t forget.
Grab a beer. Let’s get into it.

NOTE: This episode was recorded prior to April 25, when Todd died. The previous episode was recorded after, because I wanted to address his death on the next episode that I released. Kevin from History Goon once again joins Bill on this one, and as of the time of release, Kevin’s podcast, History Goon has been released! Show link is with the links below.
In this episode of Crimes, Killers, Cults and Beer, wetake a deep breath and dive into one of the most disturbing and controlling religious movements in modern America — the Word of Faith Fellowship, led by the iron-fisted Jane Whaley. From her pulpit in Spindale, North Carolina, Whaley built a cult cloaked in Christianity, where members endured public beatings, emotional manipulation, and “blasting” prayers that sounded more like exorcisms than sermons.
We break down Jane’s rise from math teacher to spiritualdictator, the shocking allegations of abuse and isolation, and the hold she maintained over followers for decades — even banning laughter, music, and contact with the outside world. It’s a tale of spiritual control, psychological domination, and the terrifying power of blind faith.
Grab a beer — you’re gonna need it — and join us as we pullback the curtain on the Word of Faith Fellowship cult, wheresalvation came with a side of fear.

In this episode, we're cracking open a cold one and getting into the twisted saga of Clarence “Preacher” Heatley — a man whose nickname made him sound like a man of God, but whose actions were straight out of hell. Preacher wasn’t just a gangster — he was the head of a ruthless criminal enterprise that ran Harlem like a sermon soaked in blood.
From kidnapping and extortion to drug dealing and murder,Heatley’s Preacher Crew turned fear into currency and loyalty into a death sentence. We’re talking about a guy who turned a hotel into his personal torture chamber and handed down his own brand of justice like it was gospel. You’ll hear how he rose to power, what brought him down, and why his story still sends a chill down New York’s spine.
We also have sad news, regarding Todd, the first CKCB co-host, and we’re joined once again by History Goon, Kevin Carleton...And, he has an announcement!

It was time, folks! During the Dexter episode, Bill told Sandra about Toy Box Killer, David Parker Ray, after mentioning the killer from the TV show that could have been inspired by him. She was a little spooked by the very brief description, so Bill figured, LET’S COVER THAT ONE!!!
David Parker Ray was a sadistic serial rapist and killer. He would abduct women, and restrain them in his toy box, a service trailer that he turned into an S&M torture chamber. He would drug them, and when they woke up, he would play a sadistic tape recording of him telling the victim exactly what to expect for the duration of their stay. He would then rape the women for days, weeks, and in some cases, months.
3 women survived, although he is strongly suspected of killing many more, as well as abducting and torturing many more. But it was the heroic actions of 3 victims, one of which escaped, that brought Ray’s crimes to light, and led to his arrest and conviction.

On this episode, we’re covering a tale of 2 brothers. 2 brothers who couldn’t be more different. Steven and Cary Stayner. The whole saga of the Stayner family is heartbreaking, and one of the strangest cases in true crime. In the early 70s, Steven Stayner was abducted by a predator who in addition to abusing him for 7 years, attempted to make him his son..until he aged out, and the predator tried to make him recruit a new brother. He refused, but the predator found one anyway. Rather than let him put this new boy through the hell he had gone through, Steven and the new boy escaped, and both were reunited with their families. Steven had been gone for 7 years, and the media frenzy made Cary fade into the background. If you’re unfamiliarwith the story, I won’t spoil it for you as to what happened toCary...but its crazy, and not in a good way.
Joining us once again is Jody Plauche, who had some invaluable input into Steven’s story, considering he too was abducted by a predator when he was very young. This was a great episode, and thanks to Jody for coming on!
You can buy his book that he wrote about his experience, as well the actions that made his father, Gary into a hero here:
