Joachim Lépine is a French-to-English translator with a passion for helping translators to thrive. Even more importantly, he’s a proud dad... and dog owner!

In recent years, Joe has provided training for the United Nations, the European Commission, OTTIAQ, Magistrad, Editors Canada, the Translation Bureau, ITI (UK), Training for Translators (USA), and many others.

Joe taught English translation and related courses at Université de Sherbrooke for nearly 15 years and was head of the OTTIAQ continuing education committee from 2013 to 2020. He holds degrees in fine arts, professional translation, and education, respectively from Concordia University, Université de Sherbrooke, and Plymouth State University.

Quinn Simpson is one of the co-founders of Graydin, an organization working to revolutionize the ways we support, empower, and connect with our next generations so they can thrive at school and at home. Together with more than 300 schools and universities worldwide, Graydin has been at the forefront of the coaching movement in education since 2011.

Quinn has 18 years of experience in coaching, teacher-training, and learning content creation for teachers, students, and parents. She is a certified Co-active Coach and NLP Coach Practitioner, and at the age of 24, she co-founded a small charity called Akosia that operated for 10 years using coaching as a facilitation technique in filmmaking projects for underprivileged children and women. With a deep passion to break down the silos within education, Quinn has recently founded Gedi Village Foundation. As the acting chair, she aims to position Toronto as a hub for world-class education by establishing a cutting-edge K-8 school, a professional development center for educators and parents, as well as a philanthropic arm that promotes research and innovation in social-emotional learning (SEL). Living in the west end of Toronto with her family, she enjoys walking through High Park and showing her sons Theo and Bowie how coaching skills are for everyone.

Guest Bio:

Laura Lomax has more than 35 years of leadership experience, including 18 years as CEO of a health care management firm. From assessment, analysis, and program development to delivery and evaluation, Laura focused on designing solutions to underserved communities as well as governmental agencies, including police departments, sheriff’s departments, jails, and prison systems in 10 states across the U.S.

Since 2015, Laura has focused on developing customized workplace learning solutions to build intercultural awareness and accountability for individuals, teams, and organizations.  She has administered assessments and provided cultural competence workshops to more than 2,000 participants from the following sectors: government, education (K-20), banking, health care, law enforcement, social services, hospitality, and nonprofit agencies.

Laura received her BA in Anthropology (1984) and Master of Science in Instructional Design and Technology (2022). She is a certified Intercultural Practitioner and a Qualified Intercultural Development Inventory Administrator. Laura is also a certified facilitator/trainer for competency-building programs, including Cultural Detective, Emotional Intelligence in Diversity, and Pathways to Racial Reconciliation. In 2018 she received the NAACP Pioneer Award for building inclusive communities through leadership.

Donna Durbin started her entrepreneurial lifestyle at age 25 when she bought her first house in Houston, Texas. This turned into a nine-year creative project of hands-on design, construction, and remodeling. With a “can-do” spirit, Donna learned to refinish floors, lay tile, construct lattice fencing, install A/C ductwork, install a roof, plus float and tape sheetrock. Through that, she built the home of her dreams, complete with a second-story art studio space, swimming pool, and deck — while being married and raising two sons.

She launched her first hybrid online course, “The ABCs of an American Accent,” on Ruzuku in 2019. It combines self-study video lessons, feedback, and live coaching in a highly personalized program to transform voices and transform lives. Donna continues to create online pronunciation courses and facilitate live coaching groups and private coaching on Ruzuku.

Penny van den Berg is a military veteran having served in various roles over her 25 years in uniform. She had the opportunity and privilege to be a Conflict Management Coach for both military members and Department of National Defence employees, and it was this experience that solidified her focus on coaching after military retirement. Penny is an experienced trainer and coach with a Bachelor's degree in psychology and has specialized training in mediation, conflict management, conflict dynamic, and life coaching. Her vision is for introverts to have a deeper connection with themselves and others through conversation. And with this deeper self-connection, they can experience an increase in confidence to make their presence, voice, and ideas heard and understood.

Quinn Simpson is one of the co-founders of Graydin, an organization working to revolutionize the ways we support, empower, and connect with our next generations so they can thrive at school and at home. Quinn has 18 years of experience in coaching, teacher-training, and learning content creation for teachers, students, and parents. She is a certified Co-active Coach and NLP Coach Practitioner, and at the age of 24, she co-founded a small charity called Akosia that operated for 10 years using coaching as a facilitation technique in filmmaking projects for underprivileged children and women. As the acting chair, she aims to position Toronto as a hub for world-class education by establishing a cutting-edge K-8 school, a professional development center for educators and parents, as well as a philanthropic arm that promotes research and innovation in social-emotional learning (SEL). His specialty is helping established experts and coaches get more students and grow their businesses without relying on an endless stream of manipulative launch campaigns. He’s best known for developing a proprietary system (the “Open Every Day” system) that helps experts and coaches sell without the launch model. His new year-long program is called “The Chamber.”
