Paul continues to stress to the Galatians that we are free in Christ! But what exactly are we now free to do? Because the Lord has set us free, does that mean we’re free to do live however we want? Paul uses familial language all throughout chapter 4, making the case that once you believe in Jesus for salvation, God has adopted you into His family as a son or daughter. The Christian life is a battle. There are internal battles over temptation, fear, and anxious thoughts. There are physical battles over health and illness. There are also spiritual battles and spiritual oppression. In Psalm 144, David models how we are to approach the different difficulties we face in life.

We are often overwhelmed with questions about our future and wonder what God’s will is for our lives. Who will I marry? Where should I work? What should I do with my life? Before we can understand the “what” of God’s will, we first have to understand the “how”. God is more concerned about how we live before Him, and as we faithfully walk in obedience, the Lord will gradually reveal what He wants us to do with the life He’s given us.
