Ep. 92 - Finding Balance - My Journey with Hormone Replacement Therapy

Before we dive into today’s episode, I want to make it clear that I am not a doctor or medical professional. What I’m sharing is based on my personal experience with HRT, and it’s not intended as medical advice. Every woman’s journey is unique, and what worked for me may not be right for you. If you're considering HRT or any other health-related decision, please consult with a qualified healthcare provider to find the best option for your needs.

Today I talked about my own journey on HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy) and what some of the fears and concerns are as well as my own insights in how this is supporting me.

I was concerned however I did my own research and spoke to my doctor and other health providers and leaders in the industry and I made my own decision that was right for me.

What I did know is that I was just so sick of being tired and depressed and I had no idea how long this was going to go on for and I had to make a decision.

To be able to sleep at night was huge for my sanity and also work and relationships as this was really affecting them so something had to change.

Ep. 91 - Midlife Momentum: Ending 2024 Strong and Entering 2025 with Purpose

On the podcast today I felt so inspired and motivated to jump into my car and record this episode and talk about how my 2024 year was and how I am planning 2025 to be even more incredible.

To help me stay focused each year I choose a word and 2024 word was 'Grow/th' and it was so true to how my year was.

In 2025 my word is 'Identity' and I shared on the episode today what that meant for me and how I am going to embrace this word.

Ep. 90 - Reconnecting Back to your Authentic self as a Midlife Woman

Today was an incredible episode and I loved the conversation I had with Melissa Welch who is an Authenticity Facilitator working with women to help reveal and remove the misconceptions you have about yourself to free you to be the woman that you came here to be.

We discussed what it means to be your Authentic Self and ways in which you can find your own way and step into your own love and joy of being who you truly are meant to be.

Mel shared her own story of the catalyst that helped her discover what it meant to become more authentic for herself and how she is on a mission to help more women do the same.

I discussed the connection with perimenopause and menopause and how as midlife women we become less connected with ourselves and this is the time to now really ask for help and support, we are not meant to do things on our own.

We even shared an idea of us doing a retreat together in 2025 which is super exciting as our mission is so clear and so strong to support more women who need our help in being the best version of themselves.

Ep.89 - From Fearful to Fearless and Creating a Safe Space for Yourself

This week I spoke openly about how I was not feeling safe unless I was on my own or alone by myself. It was such a weird feeling and I could feel it in every cell of my body.

What I soon realised that this form of being alone is making me feel safe and going outside of that would make me feel like I was living in fear.

I discovered that this form of feeling only safe when I was by myself is a form on control, controlling the situations from outside events and if I don't have to deal with them I can feel more safe.

What I can now see if that this 'safeness' was actually keeping me stuck in my relationships, my business, my friendships and life in general. Now that I am aware of this I can now work to shift this feeling and belief and move in a forward direction.

Have you ever felt like this before? Not sure how to overcome this? Journalling was my tip today to get it all on to paper and out of your head, honestly journalling is my lifesaver when I can't figure things out.

One thing I want you to understand is that once you become aware it does take some time to work towards the new belief and change your old patterns, so have compassion for yourself.

Ep. 84 - Understanding nutrition and what we need as a midlife woman

Today's episode was alot of fun and Sammy truly loves what she does and brings so much joy to people's lives with the way she teaches women and kids about nutrition.

Women often neglect self-love, as they have been conditioned to prioritise others' needs. This can lead to passive-aggressive behaviour later in life. In Sammy's work, she focuses on teaching women how their bodies work and the importance of slowing down and nourishing themselves in every way. 

The modern lifestyle is not suited to our bodies, leading to disruptions in our endocrine systems and overall health. Women often experience constant stress and a never-ending "to-do" list, which hampers proper digestion. No matter how well they eat or exercise, if their body doesn't feel safe, weight loss becomes difficult. It's not about pushing ourselves or starving; it's about reconnecting and slowing down—a practice many have forgotten.

Ep. 81 - Sleep is the key for Perimenopause success - Strategy Number 2

This week on the podcast I continue sharing my strategies for proven strategies to manage your perimenopause symptoms and strategy number 2 is sleep.

As women we have a lot of hormones racing through our bodies and we have that because primarily our body was designed to have babies. As we get older our main two hormones estrogen and progesterone start to decline and this is where it starts to mess with us!

As these decline our bodies are not working as efficiently as they used to. Then we introduce cortisol which is what they call the stress hormone and usually the big contributor to holding on to that extra weight we start to carry during perimenopause, especially around our midsection.

Our bodies are so confused and the cortisol is having the best time! 

The best thing we can do as a midlife woman on the journey of perimenopause, is to rest more and get better quality sleep.

While we sleep we rebalance our hormones and out bodies truly do get the best chance to recalibrate.

Ep. 80 - A Positive Mindset for Perimenopause Success - Strategy Number 1

The importance of a positive mindset

On today's episode I share my first strategy for managing your perimenopause with success.

A strong and positive Mindset is going to be one of the biggest weapons you can have.  Once you learn how to monitor your thoughts and turn any negative thoughts into a positive thoughts your life is going to change for the better.

The first step is to first become aware of your thoughts. Until you do that you are not going to be able to change them especially if they are more negative then positive.

You can think up to approximately 60,000 thoughts a day, crazy right but not all of our thoughts are good thoughts.

Perimenopause does not have to be hard and you don't need to struggle through this. I hope this episode helps you understand how to improve your mindset and how this is going to help you manage your symptoms and transition so much easier.

Ep. 75 - Fear of money and the stories that are keeping us stuck

Today I wanted to share my own story about money and how it has affected me for such a long time and today when I recorded this episode it triggered me again.

Money should never make us feel a lack or less then but for some reason it always seems to do that. As they say money makes this world go around and its true but the story I have been stuck on for a while now is that no more is coming and I am going to run out, crazy right when the truth is, it's not that at all.

My old conditioning from a early relationship didn't help me very much either and I had started to believe these stories that really knocked my self worth down a peg and today was really hard but I knew today was the day to change that story and shift.

Personal development comes in many forms and when it comes to money I have found this and my body image to be the biggest ones that have kept me somedays in a very unhappy and frustrated place.

I want to share my story with so you know you are not alone and that things are getting better everyday when we turn inwards and find the core belief that is keeping us in this very unproductive loop.

Ep. 74 - Prioritising your own needs first

I have talked about this topic before but it seems to be one that keeps coming back around every couple of months. We get motivated to work on ourselves, our goals and our dreams and then everyone and everything seems to take over.

Why does this keep happening? Why has women do we feel like we have to put others first?

I think we can do better ladies but first we need to become aware of it and then we need to start working on some action steps to take us in the other direction.

I think putting our priorities first is only going to help others around us so let's start changing how we do things and put our needs first.

Ep. 73 - Managing HPV and having a Leep or LLetz Procedure

I am so passionate about helping women who are struggling with HPV and understanding this scarey journey of managing HPV.

I have been managing HPV for a number of years now and eventhough I have not been able to receive a negative pap smear result I continue to work with my health practitioners, natural therapies and taking care of myself.

There is such a negative social understanding of HPV and its time to talk about this more and really educate the world of what it is really about and not look at it as something that is bad or negative.

I recently underwent surgery to remove some of my abnormal cells and I share more about the procedure and what actually happens and my recovery as well.

I am here to lead the world in creating a community to support as many women as I can while they navigate this sometime shameful and embarrassing virus and share my own story to help them feel more seen and heard.
