But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

Rev. Don Van Zandt delivered a sermon about the woman with an issue of blood. If she could but touch the hem of Jesus' garment, she knew she would be healed of a great heath problem. Jesus told her it was her faith that made her whole! Mat 9:22 "But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour."

Rom 8:10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

Rev. Jeremy Breese provided Commerce with a sermon that truly fed our souls! He spoke from Ephesians 1:1-23 pointing out seven purposes: 1) desire us to become children of God, 2) to be holy and blameless through Him, 3) to love and be in the beloved, 4) be rich in spirit and wisdom with a mind that changes through God, 5) wants to reveal all mysteries to us, with us pursuing those mysteries, 6) desire to be filled with the Holy Spirit, 7) and vs. 18: "Give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints."

This has been a very special day, Commerce has celebrated the 42nd anniversary with Dr. B. L. Rice. We had various members sharing their testimonies and history with the church. We have chosen two to share with you, a song written by one of our members, Diana Walker, and a poem written by another member, John Ayers.

We are the precious, great pearl which God has seen and know it is beyond price. He sells all, He gives all to purchase the pearl, His very life! We are that Great Pearl, blessed, loved and cherished by the One who died for us.

O how powerful is the precious "Word of God!" It is the substance of our strength, the hope of our eternal life and so much more. We read it, devour it, and live by this awesome blessing from our God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Psa 127:3-4 "Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth." Mrk 10:14-6 "But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them."

"And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions. And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers. And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing." Luke 2:46-48

While Jesus was teaching in the temple, the religious leaders interrupted Him by bringing a woman caught in adultery, asking Jesus what Moses would do. But Jesus turned this humiliating incident around, not condemning her, but giving the woman the opportunity to be saved, and to start a new life with Jesus.

We, the church, stands together creating a unit of faith! When we stand together many times in the Bible, this unit moves God's hand. There is spiritual power when a "unit of faith" prays as a unit to our Lord.

How precious the scene of the Cross! There Jesus set mankind free if we will believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and follow faithfully after Him. "A rugged wood, a heavy price, love's sacrifice, a saving slice. For sins of man, a crown of thorns, upon the cross, hope is born."

We are told all that His Beloved has done to make this vineyard beautiful, but alas it as given forth wild grapes. Have you ever felt you have worked hard, been faithful, and yet 'hard things' seem to come your way? I think the point of this passage scripture is: They cared more for the earthy benefits than the spiritual benefits.

James 4:6-8 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

As we hear the account of the Hebrew children in the fire in this sermon, "Four men in the fire:" they would not bow to their circumstances. But they remained faithful as the world heated up the fire against them. This is the works of darkness to harass the believer. God is checking the hearts of His people as the day approaches. He is Coming!

Hell is enlarging itself. Our world is filled with hate, division, unrest, anarchy and just plain lack of peace. But then we read in Holy Scripture, Eph 2:14; "He is our peace." speaking of Jesus. For Jesus said in John 14:27 "peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." So as hell rages, and is enlarged, His peace remains.

Tribulation comes to everyone. For a faith-believing Christian we know that tribulation, a valley experience, will always result in a victory, a mountain experience! A perfect example is a listing of Paul's tribulations, and always ending in victory for his work for the Lord. 2Co 11:25-31 "Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness. Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches. Who is weak, and I am not weak? who is offended, and I burn not? If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities. The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed for evermore, knoweth that I lie not.

To the believer His name is powerful. But with us who love Him, perhaps, we sometimes forgot just how powerful the name of our Father in Heaven is to us. Humanity can not 'shake ' our God by using His name improperly. He is God, and He has said "I change Not!" We see such love and strength in God's Son for it is written in Hebrews 13:8 "Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens."

You will be blessed by the comfort of the Word of God. He is our God, our King, our constant companion! He is unshakable by the works of darkness. He is not only our stability in all that life holds, but He is our total peace! Prophetic Comfort scriptures: Isaiah 40:1-2, 49:13, 52:19, 51:3,12-13, 57:18, 61:2, and 66:13
