017 | Microsoft Teams AI SDK Naming Nightmare Solved

In this episode, Andrew Connell and Julie Turner tackle the confusion surrounding Microsoft's Teams AI SDK naming conventions and help developers understand which tools to use for building Copilot extensions and AI agents. We break down the differences between the Teams AI Library, M365 Agents SDK, Azure AI Foundry, and Teams Toolkit, explaining when to use each framework and how they all fit together in Microsoft's AI development ecosystem.

We discuss the evolution of these SDKs, the recent renaming challenges that have caused developer frustration throughout the summer and provide clarity on the current state of Microsoft's AI development landscape as of October 2025. Whether you're building declarative agents, API plugins, or custom engine agents, or Teams extensions this episode will help you navigate the SDK maze and choose the right tools for your project.

Plus, we wrap up with our weekly picks, including an exciting space simulator game and an irresistible pecan bar recipe that's better than pecan pie!

015 | Navigating Microsoft Graph's SDK Future… and Struggles

In episode 15, Andrew & Julie examined the maintenance status of various Microsoft Graph SDKs. While some SDKs like .NET, Java, PHP, PowerShell, and Go receive regular monthly updates, the JavaScript SDK has not been updated in approximately two years (since September 2023). This creates significant issues for developers as the Graph endpoints have certainly changed during this time, but the typings and SDK haven't been updated to reflect these changes.

The Microsoft Graph CLI was also noted as being publicly archived and officially retired as of late August 2025.

013 | M365 Power Platform Environments & ALPACAs? with MVP Wes Preston

In this episode of Code Deploy Go Live, hosts Julie Turner and Andrew Connell discuss Microsoft 365 Copilot extensibility options, Power Platform environments, and interview Wes Preston, a Microsoft MVP since 2009 who works primarily in the productivity space with SharePoint, lists, and Power Platform.

The discussion centered on the balance between Power Platform (low-code/no-code) and Pro Dev (professional development) approaches for Microsoft 365 extensibility, with a focus on when each approach is appropriate and how organizations should make these decisions, as well as the newly introduced Power Apps Code Apps (jokingly nicknamed "alPACAs").

Code. Deploy. Go Live.
012 | AI News Roundup, GPT-5, Code Assistants, and Ancient Yeast?

In this news-heavy episode, Andrew and Julie dive deep into the latest developments shaking up the Microsoft 365 and Azure AI landscape. Fresh off Julie's vacation to Vermont's Northeast Kingdom, the duo tackles a whirlwind of announcements dominated by artificial intelligence updates, including OpenAI's surprise release of open source models and the long-awaited launch of GPT-5. They explore how these developments impact Microsoft 365 Copilot users, from new budget controls and enhanced chat tools to the integration of GPT-5 as the foundational model for enterprise users.

The conversation takes an interesting turn as Andrew and Julie engage in a thoughtful debate about Microsoft's development philosophy, questioning whether the company's push toward simplified tooling and SDKs sometimes comes at the expense of developer understanding. They discuss the balance between productivity and transparency, using examples from Teams development and the SharePoint Framework to illustrate their points. The episode wraps up with Julie's fascinating pick about recreating ancient Egyptian bread using 4,500-year-old yeast, and Andrew's recommendation of Context7, an MCP server that provides access to over 31,000 documentation libraries for developers.
