Traveling within Ghana and other countries on the African continent has been something that has been growing very much within the community of Ghanaians and Africans. I speak mainly for Ghanaians as I am Ghanaian and I have a better judgment speaking on this topic with regards to Ghana. It is beautiful to see many of us appreciating the motherland and slowly understanding that a vacation can be had within one’s own country and also the sheer curiosity many have in knowing the Ghanaian culture. I speak with Akosua Shirley who intrigued me with her love for traveling across the different regions in Ghana and other countries outside of Ghana as a way people patronise what we have as a country. If there is one thing Ghana is rich in is it’s resources in food and the Ghana Food Movement understands that. It was a delight to speak to two members of the Ghana Food Movement- Lotte Wouters and Abdallah Smith, to shed light on the food system in Ghana, how we can all be a part of it in a very fun way to ensure we have a sustainable food future in Ghana and how to patronize our foods and utilize them in dynamic ways that we haven’t yet explored.

The relationship a lot of black people have with their hair hasn’t always been the best and some people till day still don’t have a good relationship with their hair because of some traumas when they used to get their hair done as kids. I can totally relate! It was lovely speaking to Yasmin Botchway, the owner of The YB Studio, a modern healthy hair studio in Ghana and also in the UK about hair care. Yasmin and I delve into her passion for hair and beauty, what healthy hair is and we also touch on how natural hair isn’t better than relaxed hair and vice-versa. I hope this episode challenges your perspective on how you view your hair and the relationship you have with it.

Skincare has been on a rise for the past decade especially in the black community. There have been so many skincare trends we have all been victims of, from simply following the routines of our favorite beauty YouTuber from 2015 to trying out homemade skincare remedies. No shade here but the girls and guys did what they deemed fit for that glowing skin. There is more to skincare than what meets the eye. There is a whole science behind this and on today’s episode we speak to Lebenam Golo of Lebenam Skin, who is a licensed esthetician and a certified acne expert. Lebenam is here to speak on all things skincare and help us have a healthier mindset when it comes to taking care of our skin.
