We start a new series this week, in which we go over the essentials of our Christian walks and how important they are to our spiritual growth. Who faced trials in life that were, by our perspective, unwinnable; however, we know that what is impossible for man is possible with God! With God we can face impossible odds, we can stand our ground, and we can win in unfamiliar territory. This week we take a look at the classic story of King Saul, the king appointed by the demand of the Israelite people. For years the Lord had been their one and only king, however, the Israelites saw that the other nations all had kings and so they demanded one as well. The Lord knew where it would lead but appointed a king anyway. Our journey through Philippians this week reminds us that if you have lost joy or have grown tired, that our hope in Jesus bring us joy again and again. Through chapter three, Paul encourages us that we are not under the law anymore but are under love. We are not bound by our flesh but free to live life according to Christ's love for us and for others. That if there is anything to boast in, it isn't found in our flesh or accomplishments, but all in Christ and His work on this Earth and the cross.
