It’s the 25th anniversary of The Weekenders! Nadia Russo put together a  list of questions from fans, and in this episode Doug - the creator of the series - does his best to answer them.

We talk to the amazing David Dozoretz! Creator of the Zafari animated series, director of the animated Bolo Fest parade in Mexico, pioneer of pre-visualization and visual effects master on such films as Star Wars, Jurassic Park and Forrest Gump! Wow! This guy has had a hands in making everything you love.

We talk to creator of Nickelodeon’s ”The X’s” and all-around animation genius, Carlos Ramos.

We talk about directing voice sessions, some of our favorite voice actors, and how to act around famouses. Also the puzzling story behind Doug’s signed DVD of ”The Tick.”

We talk about what exactly a ”producer” is, and it’s sooooo many things, you guys. We go into some detail about what our duties have been in the past as producers of various shows. Also there are some digressions about things like the 1932 classic film, ”What Price Hollywood?” and the Hays Code and our dog, Klaus. Oh my gosh you guys, so many great writing tips. Mostly we talk about structure, but also there’s some chat about how quickly you have to grab your audience in a streaming show, and why you should be uncomfortable if you write four lines of dialogue in a row with no description.

How - and why - does an intellectual property get developed into a movie or series? OMG you guys, we’ve done so much of this, we’re totally the ones to answer! We talk about our process, and about why there are so many adaptations, remakes, reboots, sequels, etc.
