Jannese is on a mission to educate marginalized communities on topics like entrepreneurship, investing, and building generational wealth through her personal finance podcast, "Yo Quiero Dinero."

It was a true honor getting to interview Jannese, and I'm certain you'll find her as inspiring and motivating to listen to as I do!

Tara @debtfreemillennial - Financial Planning, Student Loans

Hello friends!

In this week's episode, I spoke with Tara, one of the first friends I made when I started talking about career strategy and finances online.

Tara is a professional in the finance industry, with lots of experience and expertise regarding student loans. In this episode, Tara breaks down her college and career experiences, helping guide us through some tough decisions she made, as well as her goals.

Interestingly enough, when we recorded this episode, Tara was in a very different place in her career. Just recently, Tara was part of company-wide layoffs in this tumultuous economy, but to no surprise, she turned this opportunity into gold and is now in the process of crushing the same goals she discussed in this episode.

To see what Tara's up to, check her out on social media @debtfreemillennial, especially if you want to stay in the know regarding student loan cancellations.

I hope you like this episode, and if you do, I'd appreciate it if you left a kind review! Thanks :)

Cheers,

Hannah

Nneka @highblackgirl - DEI, Health and Financial Wellness

Hello friends!

In this week's episode, I spoke with Nneka, another one of my OG Twitter friends (if you aren't catching on to the trend that social can make networking fun and organic, you're missing out!).

Nneka is a 2016 graduate from Pace University with a B.S. in Communications with a concentration in Psychology and Women’s Studies. As a professional in the tech industry, Nneka spent time at Google, Refinery29, and Taboola where she built diversity, equity, and inclusion programs such as Refinery29’s Unbothered and Taboola Black.

Upon Nneka’s departure from Refinery29, High Black Girl was born. The mission? To demystify financial education to help - especially Black women - level up their finances and live their life at their highest potential.

Through corporate diversity, equity, and inclusion programs Nneka began to incorporate wellness by partnering with organizations such as Black Girls in Om. This partnership was the beginning of a path that would lead her to the Spirituality, Mind, Body Insitute at Columbia University.

In 2020 Nneka completed her 200-hour yoga certification with Y7 and currently teaches chakra-based hot power vinyasa from a trauma-informed lens at Corepower Yoga.

Eager to continue a path to spiritual awakening, Nneka is taking a sabbatical from corporate America to pursue her studies and High Black Girl full time. It’s Nneka’s mission to incorporate mindfulness, spirituality, and financial education into the core of the High Black Girl brand.

Check out Nneka's e-book, Budgeting for Baddies!

I hope you like this episode, and if you do, I'd appreciate it if you left a kind review! Thanks :)

I'm so excited for you to listen to this episode because it's not only super relatable, it's also inspiring. Gabrielle shares how she wasn't sure what to do after college and took many different jobs in education, law, and research, searching for the right fit. Life produced ups and downs along the way, but she's learned a lot, and in this episode she shares what she's looking for now that she's gained more clarity.

I hope you like this episode, and if you do, I'd appreciate it if you left a kind review! Thanks :)

Courtney - Parks and Recreation

Hello friends!

In this week's episode, I spoke with Courtney, a leader in local parks and recreation in Minnesota. Courtney's episode is so inspiring - her career path has not always been clear, easy, or straight, but she has still managed to work (and be incredibly successful) in her passion, which is sports.

Courtney shared with me her struggles finding a job in sports, how she utilized her other strengths to support her, and the difficulties of navigating career growth and stepping into management roles. We also discussed child-free interests, strategically planning your finances, and lots about the benefits of government work and unions!

Bridget @bridgiecasey - Entrepreneurship, Personal Finance

Hello friends!

In this week's episode, I spoke with Bridget Casey! I've been asked MANY times when this episode would come out, and I'm so excited to announce it's finally here!

When I started Stocks and Squats, Bridget's tweets immediately stood out to me in the personal finance space. I loved her candor, her humor, and how she managed to both drag and educate people at the same time. I reached out to talk about her career journey, which involves 7 years of post-grad education, and lots of twists and turns.

Listen to Bridget's episode to hear her break down her career so far, talk about how women can overcome the bro culture of crypto, and how she became the founder of a multi-six-figure business!

Be sure to follow Bridget on Twitter and Instagram, too!

Nora from Tandem - Software Engineering

Nora is a 'Tandemite' and a software engineer! She didn't go to school to become a software engineer, she actually went to Ohio State to study music and vocal performance.

A series of events led her to a bootcamp in St. Louis called 'LaunchCode' which helped her learn software engineering for free, and before she got a job at Tandem as a software engineer, she actually worked in politics and on Elizabeth Warren's presidential campaign.

Nora's episode is full of gems on how to transition into a technical career field without a technical degree, how to prepare for and stand out in technical interviews, and how to find your place with a diverse professional background.

Tandem is hiring! If you're interested in working at this employee-first company, check out their open roles at: https://bit.ly/384b1h2
