    Calming Your World Podcast
Balancing Mind and Home: Psychology and Feng Shui Tips to Ease Anxiety

Welcome back to the Calming Your World podcast! I’m Amanda Hawes, and in this episode, we’ll be diving deep into how you can combine professional mental health support with Feng Shui principles to help manage anxiety and create a calm, positive environment in your home.

    In this episode, you’ll learn:

    • How anxiety impacts your brain and daily life
    • Practical steps for seeking mental health support, from GP visits to therapy
    • The role of Feng Shui in creating a calming, anxiety-reducing home environment
    • Key Feng Shui tips for decluttering, energy flow, and mirror placement
    • Simple habits to transform your space into a sanctuary for mental wellness

    Feng Shui Tips Covered:

    1. Bagua Map: This essential tool helps you identify areas of your home that correspond to different life aspects, such as finances, relationships, and health. If you’re dealing with financial anxiety, look at the Southeast zone. For relationship anxiety, check the Southwest zone.
    2. Declutter: Clutter is scientifically proven to increase stress and anxiety. Start small, even if it’s just 10 minutes a day, to clear clutter and reduce stress.
    3. Candles: Be mindful of burning candles in the centre of your home, as burning candles represents burning of your health or the health of your family. Move them to other areas instead.
    4. Mirrors: Mirrors can reflect and double the energy they receive. Make sure they’re clean, crack-free, and consider their placement to avoid amplifying anxiety.
    5. Fresh Flowers: Adding flowers to your home can boost serotonin levels, promoting calmness and happiness. Even an affordable bouquet can make a difference.
    6. Sunlight and Fresh Air: Open your doors daily to let out stagnant energy and bring in fresh, positive energy. Natural sunlight boosts mood and helps reduce anxiety, so let it flow into your home whenever possible

Stay tuned for the next episode, where we’ll focus on how Feng Shui can help with anxiety related to sleep, particularly in your bedroom and your children’s bedrooms. We’ll explore décor, colour, and setup tips to create a restful, anxiety-free sleep environment.
