We get into Sydney's latest show, "Wife Material". How Sydney has been able to blend her inspirations from childhood to current and marry them in a way that feels both familiar and new.

I get a quick lesson on the importance of "Wicked" and Sabrina Carpenter. We also talk about the state of comedy as a whole and the importance of not taking yourself and things too seriously.

All this and A LOT more in my chat with Sydney!

503. Paul Booth (Tattoo Artist)

Join Paul and I for this brief chat as we discuss how he's able to keep his passion for tattooing going strong almost 4 decades into his career.

We also touch on how Paul and his shop, Last Rites, became a brand and a go to destination in a time when the industry wasn't really being promoted as such, and how intentional he's been with all of that.

Paul responds to a game I'd heard about in the convention circuit involving his dreadlock, super natural experiences and more in this chat with the tattoo icon.

BREWtally Speaking Podcast
Hello, I'm in Delaware

Something a little different for you this week as I've kinda been struggling with a motivation to do this show and honestly a lot of things in my day to day life the last few weeks since the passing of my grandfather.

I kinda go through some of the things I went through going back home to Delaware, presumably for the last time, and the feelings of being back "home" but realizing that it's also been the source for a lot of your insecurities due to familial issues from your childhood.

I also share what it was like to not really get the last time home experience i was hoping for, how in death it seems that everyone still makes things about themselves, maybe myself included, and watching my mother carry the load of dealing with the loss of her dad for everyone else.

SUPER personal episode for me, and something a bit out of the norm for the show.

Myke shares what it was like to grow up in VA and how living in a house that doubled as a local DIY venue really inspired him to pursue being in bands.

How it was for him to find his voice, literally and figuratively, in a band that had an established sound, and the journey to taking the band to new heights before disbanding. We also touch on Myke's thoughts on the upcoming reunion/farewell shows that he isn't a part of.

Alfonso opens up about how he got into heavier music growing up in Puerto Rico and moving to Miami. The importance of seeing representation in the scene with artists like Chino Moreno, Max Cavalera and how that made being in a band seem possible.

We also talk about how fatherhood has changed him in various ways. From strengthening his relationship with one his bandmate who’d long been the sole parent in the band, to going to therapy to break some familial traumas.

Join Mike and I as we chat about old man house project stuff we each were engrossed in to kick things off.

From there we talk about how small the music industry really is the longer you stay in it.  Mike shares some of the opportunities he’s  gotten over the years to fill in for people and his process of learning someone else’s songs with a day or two’s notice.

Mike and I get into a bit of drum talk as I’ve recently been learning how to play,  which leads us to gushing over our love of Meshuggah and Tomas Haake. We trade some humorous stories of us going to see bands while high.

We discuss how we both had been going through a lot of life issues almost at the same time, and how we navigated those dark times, often checking in with each other.

Join Patrick and I as we catch up for the first time in a little over a year.

Patrick opens up about how his declining health led him to making the tough decision to step down as the drummer of Ice Nine Kills, arguably at the height of the band's career. Patrick shares his journey to sobriety and we of course nerd out a bit about the ever growing non alcohol space.

We discuss the real stresses of touring as much as INK was and how Pat living a really nomadic lifestyle took it's toll on him, and how bands as a whole are starting to be more honest with fans about not being healthy, mentally or physically, and needing to take some breaks to avoid burnout or worse.

Patrick and I discuss how we've learned to re evaluate a lot of relationships in our lives and through the prism of our working in the bar industry. What’s in ahead for Pat as far as new music and collabs and SO MUCH MORE in this all encompassing chat with Patrick.

We discuss how barebones the songs seem to be, with the emphasis being placed more on the lyrics, but that even the songs arrangements and more so the instruments used were very intentional to help evoke the sentiments Nick is conveying.

We look back on 3 decades of Nick's career, the journey it's taken him on and if the process of making music that's more immediate will maybe find it's way into creating the next 311 album and more.

Chris opens up about how the band played it a bit safe on their comeback record, and how that became the impetus for really doing what they wanted on their latest record. Chris also shares what lead to the band canceling a tour, and how close the band was to possibly breaking up if they hadn't.

BREWtally Speaking Podcast
492. Dwid Hellion (Integrity/Psywarfare)

Join Dwid and I as we cover a broad spectrum of topics like how it feels to have his lyrics from the early 90's still being relevant in 2025.

We also get into growing up in the Midwest and how a lack of having much to do really helped inspire the creativity of him and his bandmates to forge their own sound. We reflect on how hard it was for them to really break through in the various heavier scenes.

We get into what led to Dwid moving to Belgium in the early 2000s, and how that was given the global climate post 9/11. How it's been for him to see things going on here in the states living abroad, and some of the challenges that presents when the band has to tour or write records.

We get into this and MUCH more in this chat with the Integrity frontman.
