It is one thing to have a long-lasting relationship, but it is another thing to have a successful and happy long lasting relationship. Whether it be in our families, our friends, on social media we see that you can have a toxic long-lasting relationship. What I wanted to talk about on today’s episode is how to have a HAPPY long-lasting relationship. Every relationship has its ups and downs and no relationship is perfect, but I’d like to think that if you both put in the work, you will achieve great results.
Today, I talk to Keana W. Mitchell. Keana is a relationship Coach and podcaster about the ups and downs of relationships and how to persevere.

Burnout keeps us from living a quality life and the effects of burnout can manifest in our body, in our mind and spirit. . I did some research and found some alarming statistics.
I recently connected with Monika Martin to discuss her experience with burnout, how it affected her, and how she overcame .
Monika is a life transformation coach, a motivator, and an intuitive healer. She overcame c-PTSD and burnout after many years of suffering from severe childhood trauma, crippling anxiety, terrible panic attacks, and debilitating chronic pain. She now feels happier, and healthier, and she is more in tune with herself, embracing her truth and embodying her flow.
She empowers women to find themselves & their happiness to live a purpose and passion driven life.

When it comes to spirituality everyone’s path is different and not everyone will go through the same things. There is a lot to talk about when it comes to deconstructing and I wanted to continue the conversation.
On Episode 4 of this podcast I discussed the deconstruction journey with author Chandrika Phea. In that episode we talked about our journeys of discovering God in a greater way and breaking down the oppressive religious structures that had been in our lives.
I wanted to go deeper and have another conversation surrounding the healing that has to take place during and after the deconstruction process. Not everyone has experienced church hurt, not everyone will have to address religious trauma, but many of us will. In this episode, we discuss church hurt/trauma, creating your own path, and even what it looks like to deconstruct while still going to church!

"As I walked out the door toward the gate that would lead to my freedom, I knew if I didn’t leave my bitterness and hatred behind, I’d still be in prison." Nelson Mandela. Holding on to unforgiveness poisons us and essentially, keeps us in a prison. It doesn't hurt the one who wronged us, it hurts us.
Forgiveness is hard.
Today we have Andrea Mason on the show. Andrea and I discuss the effects of not forgiving, how to forgive ourselves and others and discuss ways to know we have truly forgiven. I hope you enjoy the show!

Trauma comes in all shapes and sizes - from family trauma to church to sexual assault, physical abuse and neglect. So many times, people don’t want to address their trauma - it’s not pleasant to go into, or people are forced to because they can’t really function due to being hijacked by ptsd. This episode talks about how to change that narrative - how you can heal your trauma, that you don’t have to spend years going into the details and drama, that there are tools and approaches out there that can get you to resolution faster. And gives real-world examples of life before and after trauma healing (ie working in a job with super toxic people vs working a job with inspiring, positive people).
My guest: Simrit Atma Kaur, spiritual teacher and metaphysical healer breaks down what trauma is and how we can effectively deal without spending years to do so. At the end of the episode, she leads us into a transformational grounding exercise.

10 Minutes of Authenticity. Our words have power! Our words have the power to shift us into the negative or the positive. How do you speak to yourself? What words are you feeding your soul? This episode discusses the power of words on our subconscious and the power of positive affirmations.
Many of us are living like robots, following rules and ways of life that are not authentic to us. Dead on the inside. Just going through the motions.
We have been conditioned to think certain ways, to live certain ways, to believe God, but also to fear everything.
Many of us were raised in “the church”, we were raised in religions and denominations that stripped us from who we really were, especially those of us in the African diaspora. And a lot of us are not living in our truth out of fear.
In this episode, I interview Chandrika D. Phea, author of "Lord, I Don't Want To Die A Christian". Her journey started out like a lot of our own journeys. Listen, as we have a candid conversation about deconstructing our faith. #deconstructingfaith #deconstructingchristianity
Chandrika's book can be found on amazon and www.chandrikadphea.com
