Welcome back, everyone! We have another very special episode here. Alex finally gets to sit down with the legend himself: Jack Ball. Jack is one of the lead singers and guitarists for Moon Owl's Mages; he is the other half of Back Wall Records and a great man. Alex was very excited to sit down with him and discuss all things music. They talked together so much that we figured a 2-parter would be best. We shout out so many great bands and artists in these episodes, you may have to make a list somewhere to keep them all straight.

This is our longest episode ever and a brand new format for us so let us know what you think!
Alex had so much fun talking about an album he loves in the last episode: Youth Lagoon's The Year of Hibernation, that he decided to take a break from the Icons-Beatles series to talk about another album that he loves. This World is Too Much by Restraining Order is an excellent hardcore punk album. Not sure what hardcore punk is? Don't worry, Alex dives into that a little bit on this episode. Go listen to This World Is Too Much and let us know what you think!
Welcome back to our Mind Expanders series where we talk about albums that opened our minds to new music. Alex talks about one of his favorite albums of all time, the first ever no-skips/perfect album that he's discussed on the show: Youth Lagoon's debut album: The Year of Hibernation. In the 3rd installment of his Icons series, Alex takes a look at and listens to The Beatles' 3rd studio album: A Hard Day's Night, as well as the accompanying feature length movie of the same title. This is a totally different Icons episode as it involves a reaction to a movie. Who'da thought that we'd be jumping into movies so soon? Give it a listen and let us know what you think.
In this episode, Alex launches yet another series. We're calling this one Mind Expanders because we'll be covering all of the artists, albums, songs, genres, etc that expanded our tastes and allowed us to enjoy music of all shapes and sizes. Some albums lie far on the outskirts of punk rock, others are in a completely different universe, but they're all great, and we want to share them with you. The first one Alex is covering is the tribute-to-a-state-album, Illinois, by Sufjan Stevens. Sufjan is an accomplished singer/songwriter, and his compositions are unlike most things that Alex enjoys, and they really opened his musical heart as a young man.
Alex is back on his Icons run with The Beatles' second studio album: With The Beatles. As he continues to dive into the Beatles' discography, he's beginning to get a glimpse of why this band is so legendary. Give it a listen to find out the new things he's learning about the band and the ways that they're gaining respect in his eyes and ears.
I am a huge fan of Ska. I have been for almost 20 years. There are many reasons why I love it, and many reasons why other people hate it. In this series we dive into all of that and I present songs that show how great this genre really is. Let us know if you're a fan or not and why.
In this episode, Alex dives into what promises to be an exciting series called Icons. There are a number of music legends and icons that Alex has never really put much time into listening to. With this series, he'll dive into these icons' discographies and try to uncover what makes these artists legendary and whether or not he likes any of their songs enough to add them to his regular rotation. To kick it off he's jumping into possibly the biggest icon, The Beatles with their 1st studio album: Please Please Me.
Moon Owl's Mages released their 3rd studio album: Step On It! on March 14th and everyone should go listen to it!
