We spotlight a new feature film project set in the heart of rural Telangana. A team of indie filmmakers is producing a 15-minute demo that captures the spirit, complexity, and contradictions of village life — blending humour with realism.

The film is being developed by Gopi Krishna Shakhapur, a filmmaker from Telangana with credits in projects like Kothaporadu, Pareshan (Associate Director), Fighter Raja (Casting Director), Mandharam (Dialogue & Casting), and Netflix’s Super Subbu.
The team is currently raising ₹2,00,000 to support production essentials: equipment, travel, food, and post-production.
This episode explores the story behind the project, the creative vision driving it, and the lived experiences that shape storytelling from Telangana’s grassroots.

Venkat Prabhu, son of renowned director and music composer Gangai Amaran, began his career as a singer before transitioning into acting, often in character roles. His directorial debut, Chennai 600028, marked his first major success, followed by the hit comedy thriller Saroja. Venkat continued to make his mark with the entertaining Goa, and is now in the spotlight for his highly anticipated film GOAT (The Greatest of All Time), featuring an ensemble cast led by Thalapathy Vijay.
