THE GOD WHO RESTORES

THE GOD WHO RESTORES

WHAT WAS LOST There are moments in life when we feel like we've lost our edge our motivation, our purpose, our joy, or even something tangible like a job or relationship. The man in 2 Kings 6 was simply trying to help build a new space when his borrowed axe head flew into the water. It wasn't his tool, and now it was gone, a simple yet overwhelming problem. But instead of scolding him or ignoring the issue, Elisha calmly asks, "Where did it fall?" That question is powerful, "Where did it fall?" It's God's invitation for us to pinpoint where we lost what we once had. Was it in a relationship? In a moment of fear? In a season of burnout? The miracle that followed, "iron floating" shows us that God specializes in recovering what we thought was gone forever. He doesn't just care about big spiritual crises, He cares about borrowed tools, broken dreams, and little things that matter to us. So if you feel like you've lost your edge, your peace, or your purpose, God can make the iron swim again. Ask Him to help you return to the place of loss, and trust Him to do what only He can.

All Prayed Up:

Lord, I thank You that You are the God who restores. Even when I lose things, whether spiritual strength, joy, or something borrowed, You care enough to intervene. Help me remember where I lost my edge, and give me the courage to return to that place. I believe You are still the God who makes the iron swim. Restore what’s broken, renew what’s worn out, and revive what has grown cold in me. Thank You Father for Your faithfulness, even in the small things. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Sing to the Lord

Thank You for our Song Lord

Miriam sang to them:

“Sing to the Lord, for he is highly exalted. Both horse and driver he has hurled into the sea.” - Exodus 15:21

All Prayed Up:

Heavenly Father,

We come before you with hearts full of gratitude and joy, ready to sing praises to your name. You are the source of all beauty, love, and goodness in our lives, and we long to lift our voices in song to glorify you.

Lord, we recognize that in the act of singing, we express the deepest emotions of our hearts. We sing to you not only with our voices but also with our souls, declaring your greatness and majesty.

As we raise our voices in worship, may our songs be a sweet offering to you, O Lord. May our praises ascend to your throne as a fragrant offering, pleasing in your sight.

We thank you for the gift of music, which allows us to connect with you on a profound level. In the melodies and harmonies, we find a reflection of your creativity and the beauty of your creation.

Help us to sing to you not only in times of joy but also in times of sorrow and struggle. May our songs be a reminder that you are with us always, bringing comfort and hope.

Lord, we acknowledge that you are the audience for our songs, and your presence is what truly matters. May our worship be heartfelt and sincere, an outpouring of our love and devotion to you.

In the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, who is the ultimate reason for our songs of salvation and redemption, we offer this prayer of praise and thanksgiving.

Amen.

The Blood of Jesus

but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. - 1 Peter 1:19

Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood. - Acts 20:25

and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. - Colossians 1:20

In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you - Luke 22:20

All Prayed Up:

Heavenly Father,

We come before you with hearts filled with awe and gratitude for the precious blood of your Son, Jesus Christ. Your Word reminds us that it is through His blood that we are healed, redeemed, and made whole.

Lord Jesus, we thank you for the sacrifice of your life and the shedding of your blood on the cross. Your blood is the ultimate symbol of love, grace, and redemption. Through your blood, we find forgiveness for our sins, and we are cleansed from all unrighteousness.

We acknowledge that it is through your blood that we are healed. Your blood brings healing to our physical bodies, our emotional wounds, and our spiritual brokenness. We trust in your promise that by your stripes, we are healed.

We are redeemed through your blood, Lord Jesus. You paid the price for our sins, setting us free from the bondage of sin and death. Your blood purchased our salvation, and we are eternally grateful for the redemption we find in you.

Your blood makes us whole, Lord. It restores what is broken, fills the emptiness within us, and brings us into a right relationship with you. Through your blood, we are made new creations, born again in your image.

Lord, help us never to take the significance of your blood for granted. May we always remember the incredible sacrifice you made for our sake and live our lives in a manner that reflects your love and grace.

As we partake in the communion of your body and blood, help us to do so with reverence and thanksgiving, acknowledging the profound gift of your blood that brings healing, redemption, and wholeness to our lives.

In your precious and powerful name, we pray.

Self-Talk

This is My Exodus

Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.” - Exodus 4:12

Exodus 4:12 contains valuable lessons and guidance that we can apply to our lives. Here are some key teachings we can glean from this verse:

  1. Trust in Divine Guidance: The verse reminds us to trust that God will provide us with the words to speak when we face challenges or uncertainties. It teaches us to rely on divine guidance and not solely on our own abilities.
  2. Overcome Self-Doubt: Moses initially expressed self-doubt about his speaking abilities, but God reassured him. We can learn to overcome our own self-doubt and limitations by placing our trust in God's plan for us.
  3. Embrace God's Purpose: God's promise to provide the words to speak was tied to a specific purpose: leading the Israelites out of Egypt. We can learn to discern and embrace God's purpose for our lives and recognize that He equips us for the tasks He calls us to.
  4. Positive Self-Image: Moses was encouraged to think well of himself and have confidence in his abilities as a leader. We can learn the importance of maintaining a positive self-image and acknowledging our unique qualities and strengths.
  5. Effective Communication: Effective communication is a valuable skill. Moses learned that trusting in God's guidance can lead to better communication and persuasive speech.
  6. Faith in God's Presence: This verse underscores the importance of faith in God's presence and assistance in our lives. It teaches us to rely on Him in all situations, especially when faced with challenges.
  7. Overcoming Obstacles: Moses faced the obstacle of his own self-perceived inadequacies. We can learn to overcome obstacles and challenges in our lives with faith and trust in God's provision.
  8. God's Faithfulness: God's promise to Moses highlights His faithfulness and commitment to His chosen servants. We can learn to trust in God's faithfulness to fulfill His promises in our own lives.
  9. Humility: Moses' initial self-doubt and hesitation show humility. We can learn the value of humility in recognizing our dependence on God and our need for His guidance.
  10. Listening to God: This verse encourages us to listen to God's guidance and direction in our lives, not relying solely on our own understanding.
  11. Empowerment: God's assurance to Moses empowers him to take on a challenging task. We can learn that God's encouragement and support empower us to face difficult situations with confidence.
  12. Courage: Moses needed courage to confront Pharaoh and lead the Israelites. We can learn the importance of courage in fulfilling God's calling, knowing that He will provide what is needed.

Incorporating these lessons from Exodus 4:12 into our lives can help us trust in God's guidance, overcome self-doubt, and embrace our unique purpose with confidence and humility.

All Prayed Up:

Heavenly Father,

We come before you with hearts filled with gratitude and trust. Just as you assured Moses that you would give him the words to speak, we, too, believe in your promise to guide our words and thoughts.

Help us, Lord, to think well of ourselves, recognizing that we are fearfully and wonderfully made in your image. Teach us to embrace our unique qualities and abilities, understanding that you have equipped us for the tasks you set before us.

Grant us the wisdom to speak words of kindness and encouragement, both to ourselves and to others. May our words be a reflection of your love and grace.

When doubt and insecurity try to take root in our hearts, remind us, Lord, that you are with us always, empowering us to overcome our limitations. May we find our confidence in you and speak with the assurance that your Spirit dwells within us.

In your holy name, we pray.

Amen.

I AM

I Am that I Am

He added, "I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." Then Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God. - Exodus 3:6

God spoke to Moses and said to him, "I am the Lord. - Exodus 6:2

The phrase "I AM that I AM" is a significant statement made by God in the Bible, specifically in the book of Exodus, when He reveals His name to Moses. This declaration is found in Exodus 3:14 (ESV):

"God said to Moses, 'I AM WHO I AM.' And he said, 'Say this to the people of Israel: I AM has sent me to you.'"

Here are some insights into what "I AM that I AM" means and how we know that God is indeed who He claims to be:

  1. Eternal Existence: When God says, "I AM," He is asserting His eternal nature. He exists outside the bounds of time and is the self-existing, uncreated Being. He has always been and will always be, without beginning or end. This affirms His omnipotence.
  2. Self-Sufficiency: "I AM that I AM" also conveys God's self-sufficiency. He is entirely self-reliant and does not depend on anyone or anything for His existence or power. He is the source of all life and sustains all creation.
  3. Unchanging Nature: God's declaration signifies His unchanging character. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). His promises and attributes remain constant, providing a firm foundation for our faith.
  4. Incomprehensibility: "I AM that I AM" hints at the transcendence of God. His ways and thoughts are beyond our full comprehension (Isaiah 55:8-9). He is beyond human limitations and understanding, yet He reveals Himself to us in ways we can grasp.
  5. Authority and Sovereignty: God's statement establishes His authority and sovereignty over all creation. He is the ultimate ruler and judge of the universe, and His will prevails in all things.
  6. Reassurance and Comfort: This declaration reassures believers that God is always present, reliable, and capable of fulfilling His promises. He is a refuge in times of trouble and a source of comfort and strength.
  7. Personal Relationship: When God uses "I AM," He invites us into a personal relationship with Him. He wants us to know Him intimately, as a loving Father and Creator. He is not a distant deity but a God who desires to be known and worshipped.

We know that God is indeed "I AM that I AM" through His actions, as recorded in the Bible and witnessed by countless believers throughout history. His consistent faithfulness, the fulfillment of His promises, and the transformational experiences of those who encounter Him testify to His identity as the one true and living God. Additionally, the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, who is the Son of God, provides further confirmation of God's existence and character. Ultimately, our faith and relationship with God are deepened as we seek to know Him and experience His presence in our lives, thank you Father!

This Week

Thank You For Provisions Lord

In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps. - Proverbs 16:9

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. - 1 Peter 5:7

All Prayed Up:

Heavenly Father,

As we stand on the threshold of a new week, we come before you with hearts full of hope and expectance, for we know that you are a God of mighty miracles. We lift up our needs and the needs of those around us, knowing that you are always faithful and that you never disappoint us.

Lord, in this week ahead, we ask for your abundant grace to be poured out upon us. May your grace sustain us through every challenge and trial we may face. Help us to extend that grace to others, showing love and understanding in all our interactions.

Fill our hearts with your peace, the peace that surpasses all understanding. In a world filled with chaos and uncertainty, let your peace be our anchor, keeping us steady and unwavering in our faith.

Lord, let the fruit of your Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—abound in our lives this week. Help us to reflect your character in all that we do, so that others may see your light shining through us.

Guide us into your will, O God, and give us the wisdom to discern your direction in our lives. Help us to trust in your plan, knowing that it is always for our good and your glory.

Lord, remind us that we already have the victory in you. Regardless of the circumstances we may face, we know that you have overcome the world, and we are more than conquerors through your love.

As we step into this new week, we place it in your hands, trusting that you will work all things together for our good. We stand in expectance of your mighty miracles and look forward to witnessing your hand at work in our lives and in the lives of those around us.

In the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, we pray.

Amen.

I want to walk like you, Lord, with grace, humility, and compassion. Teach me to step in your footsteps and follow the path you have set before me.

I want to talk like you, using words that uplift, encourage, and bring hope to others. Let my speech be a reflection of your wisdom and love.

Heavenly Father, I yearn to live like you, guided by righteousness, mercy, and grace. Transform my heart to be more like yours, overflowing with love for all your children.

I aspire to do the things you did, Lord, believing in the power of miracles and the infinite possibilities of faith. Empower me to pray without ceasing, to heal the sick, to raise the dead, to open blind eyes, and to help the lame walk, all for your glory.

I trust that, through your Holy Spirit, you will equip me for these divine works, Lord. I surrender my life to your will, knowing that it is through you that I can become More Like You.

Lord, make my desire to be More Like You an unwavering passion that drives me forward on this spiritual journey. Fill me with your presence, guide me in your ways, and let your light shine through me for the world to see.

With faith and love, I offer this prayer to you, Lord, for I long to be More Like You. May it be so, in your holy name.

Amen.

Just As I Am

I Want To Be More Like You Jesus

Everyone whom the Father gives me will come to me, and the one who comes to me I will never send away. - John 6:37

All Prayed Up:

Dear Heavenly Father,

Just as I am, I come before you, Lord, with a heart full of gratitude and awe. I thank you for your boundless love and grace, for you accept me exactly as I am, with all my imperfections and flaws.

In your presence, I find wholeness. You mend the broken pieces of my life, healing my wounds and filling the empty spaces within me. You take my weaknesses and turn them into strengths through your divine power. I am overwhelmed by your love, which sees past my mistakes and embraces me with open arms.

Lord, I thank you for the incredible gift of coming to you just as I am. You do not require me to be perfect or to have it all together before I approach you. You meet me where I am, and in your presence, I find forgiveness, acceptance, and transformation.

Help me, Lord, to remember this precious truth always, that I can approach you without fear, without pretense, and without hiding anything. Your love is unconditional, and your grace is sufficient to cover all my sins and shortcomings.

May I live my life in response to your love, seeking to become the person you created me to be. Use me, Lord, as an instrument of your love and grace, that I may reflect your light and bring others to you, just as they are.

Thank you, Lord, for your unchanging love and for taking me just as I am. I offer this prayer in humble gratitude and love.

In Jesus' name, I pray.

Amen.

A Hopeless Case

An Empty Place… Where Would I Be?

“We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love be with us, Lord, even as we put our hope in you.” - Psalm 33:20-22

All Prayed Up:

Dear Heavenly Father,

I come before you with a heart filled with gratitude and humility, for I know that I was once in a hopeless place, lost and empty, until your boundless grace transformed my life, giving it purpose and meaning.

In the depths of my despair, Lord, you reached out to me with your loving hand. You saw the emptiness within me and filled it with your presence. You took my brokenness and made me whole. You replaced my hopelessness with hope, my darkness with your light, and my confusion with your guidance.

I shudder to think where I would be without you, dear Lord. Without your grace, I would still be wandering aimlessly, searching for meaning and purpose in all the wrong places. I would be burdened by the weight of my sins and failures, unable to find true peace.

But you, in your infinite mercy, rescued me from that despair. You gave my life direction and purpose, a reason to live for something greater than myself. You revealed your love to me, and in that love, I found my identity and my worth.

Lord, I thank you for your unending love, your unfailing grace, and your boundless mercy. I thank you for the purpose you've given me, the meaning you've instilled in my life, and the hope you've planted in my heart.

May I never forget the depths from which you rescued me, and may I always walk in your ways, serving you with all my heart, soul, and strength. Help me to be a living testament to your transformative power, so that others may also find hope, purpose, and meaning through your grace.

In your precious name, I pray.

Amen.

Be Blessed

You’re Blessed

He said:

3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit,

for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

4 Blessed are those who mourn,

for they will be comforted.

5 Blessed are the meek,

for they will inherit the earth.

6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,

for they will be filled.

7 Blessed are the merciful,

for they will be shown mercy.

8 Blessed are the pure in heart,

for they will see God.

9 Blessed are the peacemakers,

for they will be called children of God.

10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,

for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

All Prayed Up:

Dear Heavenly Father,

As we reflect on the beautiful words of your Son, Jesus, in Matthew 5:3-12, we are reminded of the profound truth that those who follow your ways are blessed. You have shown us the path to true blessing, not in material wealth or worldly success, but in the qualities of the heart and spirit that reflect your love and grace.

We thank you, Lord, for these teachings that guide us toward a blessed life. Help us to embody these qualities in our daily lives:

  • Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. May we humbly recognize our need for you, seeking your guidance and wisdom.
  • Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. May we show empathy and support to those who are grieving and in pain.
  • Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. May we cultivate gentleness and humility in our interactions with others.
  • Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. May we have a burning desire for justice and righteousness in the world.
  • Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. May we extend your loving kindness and forgiveness to others.
  • Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. May our hearts be cleansed from all impurities, allowing us to experience your presence.
  • Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. May we actively work for peace and reconciliation in a world torn by division.
  • Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. May we stand firm in our faith, even in the face of adversity.
  • Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven. May we find joy in the midst of trials and be a witness to your love.

Lord, as we strive to live out these blessings, help us remember that we are called not only to receive your blessings but also to be a blessing to others. May our lives be a testament to your love, grace, and mercy, shining a light for all to see.

In the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, we pray.

Amen.

PSALMS 6

A Prayer of Faith in Time of Distress

PSALMS 6

A psalm of David.

1 Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger

or discipline me in your wrath.

2Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am faint;

heal me, Lord, for my bones are in agony.

3My soul is in deep anguish.

How long, Lord, how long?

4Turn, Lord, and deliver me;

save me because of your unfailing love.

5Among the dead no one proclaims your name.

Who praises you from the grave?

6I am worn out from my groaning.

All night long I flood my bed with weeping

and drench my couch with tears.

7My eyes grow weak with sorrow;

they fail because of all my foes.

8Away from me, all you who do evil,

for the Lord has heard my weeping.

9The Lord has heard my cry for mercy;

the Lord accepts my prayer.

10All my enemies will be overwhelmed with shame and anguish;

they will turn back and suddenly be put to shame.

All Prayed Up:

Dear Heavenly Father,

In my distress, I turn to you, just as the Psalmist did in Psalm 6. Hear my voice, O Lord, for I am weary and in need of your mercy and grace.

Like the Psalmist, I may feel overwhelmed at times, burdened by the challenges and trials that life presents. But I know that you are a compassionate and loving God who hears the cries of your children.

Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your wrath, but rather, in your unfailing love, have mercy on me. Heal my soul, when it is troubled. Grant me the peace that surpasses understanding, knowing that you are my refuge and strength.

I lay my burdens before you, Lord, trusting that you will hear my prayers and answer according to your will. Help me to endure with patience and faith, for I know that your timing is perfect.

May your light shine upon me, dispelling the darkness of despair, and may your grace sustain me through every trial. I place my trust in you, O Lord, for you are my rock and my salvation.

In Jesus Name, I pray,

Amen.

Labor Day

Can You Wear White After Labor Day?

You. Be. You.

Labor - work, make great effort, to exert one's powers of body or mind especially with painful or strenuous effort 77 occurrences in the Bible

Labor Day is a federal holiday in the United States celebrated on the first Monday in September to honor and recognize the American labor movement and the works and contributions of laborers to the development and achievements of the United States.

So then, dear brothers and sisters, be firm. Do not be moved! Always be outstanding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. - 1 Corinthians 15:58

Yet, Lord, you are our father. We are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the product of your labor. - Isaiah 64:8

Toward this goal I also labor, struggling according to his power that powerfully works in me. Colossians 1:29

All Prayed Up:

Dear Heavenly Father,

On this Labor Day, we come before you with hearts full of gratitude and thanksgiving. We pause to celebrate and honor all those who labor, who toil with their hands and minds to bring forth the fruits of their efforts. Lord, we thank you for the gift of work and for the opportunity to contribute to the world through our labor.

In your wisdom, you established a day of rest on the seventh day, a day when we can lay down our burdens and find renewal in your presence. We are reminded that we do not labor alone, for we labor for you, our Lord. Help us to always put our trust in you, knowing that our work has purpose and meaning when it is done in service to you and our fellow human beings.

We thank you, Lord, for the ability to labor, for the strength to endure, and for the skills and talents you have given us. May we never take these gifts for granted. We recognize that work can be challenging, and at times it may feel overwhelming, but we trust that you are with us every step of the way, guiding and sustaining us.

As we celebrate Labor Day, we give you all the honor, glory, and praise, for you are the source of our strength and the giver of every good gift. May our labor be a reflection of your love and grace, and may we continue to work diligently and with integrity in all that we do.

Bless and protect all those who labor, Lord, from those in factories and fields to those in offices and homes. Grant us safety, fair wages, and the recognition we deserve for our contributions to society.

In your holy name, we pray.

Amen.

I Have an Appointment!

We Must Discipline Ourselves to Spend Time with Him

Do two men walk together unless they have made an appointment? - Amos 3:3

All Prayed Up:

Heavenly Father,

We come before you today, seeking your guidance and strength as we meditate on the words of Amos 3:3: "Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?" Lord, we desire to walk with you in perfect agreement and alignment, for you are the source of wisdom, truth, and righteousness.

Help us, dear Lord, to always keep our appointments with you. In the busyness of life, may we never neglect the sacred time we have with you in prayer, in your Word, and in fellowship with your Spirit. Grant us the discipline and the desire to seek your presence daily, for in your presence, we find clarity, peace, and purpose.

Teach us to stay in agreement with you, Lord. May our hearts and minds be attuned to your will and your ways. May our words and actions reflect your truth and your love. Let us be in harmony with your plans for our lives, understanding that your purposes are higher and greater than our own.

We acknowledge that true alignment with you requires a surrender of our will to yours. Give us the humility to submit to your divine wisdom, even when it may differ from our own desires. Help us to trust that your path is the best path, and your plans are always for our ultimate good.

Lord, as we walk with you in agreement, may our lives be a testimony to your grace and faithfulness. May others see your light shining through us and be drawn closer to you.

In the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, who perfectly walked in agreement with you, we pray. Amen.
