Traveling means a variety of things to many people. To me, I love to explore new places and go off the beaten path! Traveling to Africa is my passion, it was love at first sight in 2010, my first trip to the great continent. I love sharing the beauty of the different African countries through art, jewelry, artifacts, and handmade curios. I’ve traveled to over 15 African countries in less than 8 years. I’ve traveled to more than 50 countries worldwide, I love meeting people, exploring cultures, collaborating, and designing with artists, philanthropy, photography, nature, music, and great food!

More Tips for Buying Or Receiving Free Land In Ghana: Just Start Slow!

Some Tips For Buying Property of Receiving Free Land  Do not make purchases w/o seeing the land after heavy rain. Are there water logs or marsh, or runoff issues during rain?   Don’t purchase any land if the owner does not present you with a site plan: architect sketch or coordinates, how is it divided?   Get your own qualified surveyor to survey your land.  Take your survey to the Land Commission to make sure it matches the coordinates that are at the land commission. Make sure the name on the site of sale matches the name that is registered at the land commission. Go to the land commission in that region or district where the land is being bought or given. For instance, if you are acquiring land in Asebu, you won’t go to Accra to register the land.  Speak with people in the community about the land issues w/person selling the land. Does the area have problems with land guards? Land guards are a nuisance because they are like mobsters who will leech off of prospective purchasers!  Do not buy or receive land if there are any chief disputes! Know who is the paramount chief AKA Governor of the district!  Do not buy or receive Galamsey Land that has been used for Illegal mining because it damages the land and water supply. A galamsey, derived from the phrase "gather them and sell", is a local Ghanaian term which means illegal small-scale gold mining in Ghana. Illegal mining damages the environment and causes foundational damage problems.  Find out what type of structures are going to be built on the land. Ask what are the plans for the area?  Make sure the deed is signed by the seller in the right place/ with a witness and have it video recorded by witnesses.  Do not try and navigate Africa on your own, have a friend! Make connections, it’s easy to make friends.  You need to have a registered agent!
