Spooky Sleep: The Haunted Orchard
There's nothing like a picturesque ghost story, is there? What's that? Join me for tonight's tale and find out! Let us float over lush landscapes and escape into gnarly orchards... that are haunted? Gasp! This is an easier, but still mysterious, ghost story set in a sleepy New English countryside. This tale, "The Haunted Orchard" by Richard Le Gallienne, is read in a soft voice and backed by eerie and wistful piano background music.

A Creepy Coraline Origin Story: "The New Mother"
Trick or Treat? Happy Spooky Season, Friends and Fiends! I do hope you consider today's storytelling a treat! I'm so excited to share it with you, as it is kinda creepy in the "Coraline" "Other Mother" kind of way! I do believe Neil Gaiman (author of "Coraline") took some inspiration from this particular creepy tale. Join me as we follow the two "good" sisters, Blue Eyes and The Turkey, as they try their best to impress a strange bedraggled girl with a most curious and unique peardrum! This enigmatic and aloof wanderer will only let the girls see the tiny dancing man and woman inside it if they are very bad. Truly bad. Naughty and terrible beyond belief! This understandable upsets their sweet real mother, and she threatens to leave them to The New Mother, who has glass eyes and a long wooden tail, if they do not change their behavior! Will they turn out good? Will they be bad enough to see the dancers from the pear drum girl? Is this New Mother just as bad as Coraline's Other Mother? We shall see, right now, in this Coraline origin story of sorts! This tale, "The New Mother," by Lucy Clifford, is read in a soft voice and set to some light and soft background music. I do hope you enjoy the this evening's short story! "Reaching Out, Floating Cities, Relent, Magic Forest, Blue Feather, Reaching Out, Constancy Part 2" Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 License creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ This tale is by Lucy Clifford. We finally meet the infamous Headless Horsemen of legend, and it's up to you to decide if what happens is true or not. Depends on who you ask, really! The country wives would tell you fairy folk and demons had worked magic on the ill-fated night that Ichabod Crane and Gunpowder tried to outrace the Headless Hessian, but good old Brom Bones would probably just chuckle! Hmm. Wonder why that is Brom?! Got Katrina Van Tassel all to yourself now? Also, just where and why is there a smashed pumpkin near the church graveyard? All this and more are (finally!) revealed in tonights story! This tale, Washington Irving's "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," is read in a soft voice and set to some light and eerie background music. Swapping Skins: The Twisted Tale of Peronella
What if you could have unlimited power, riches, and a whole kingdom OR could turn back time 90 years and be youthful again? In this twisted old tale, we get much deeper than skin deep into this very question! Friends and fiends, summon your familiars, get comfy and cozy, grab a mug of your favorite tea, and follow me! This story, "Peronella" is from a collection of Giambattista Basile's fairy tales, which is now in public domain. I have added my voice, commentary (as I am a human with thoughts and tangental information, and not an auto-generated robot), and creative commons music.
