»GREEN CODE«, als Kollaboration von Sabine Schäfer und Ulrich Singer entstanden, ist eine permanente Garteninstallation mit Audio-Komposition im Zoologischen Stadtgarten Karlsruhe. Eine Metallplatte in Form eines QR-Codes liegt auf der Erde, die Anordnung der Pixel zeichnet für das menschliche Auge die Umrisse eines Schmetterlings. Mit Smartphones lässt sich der auf der Werktafel abgebildete QR-Code scannen und leitet die BesucherInnen auf eine Website mit regelmäßig wechselnden Klangkompositionen. Mit »mikroskopischem Blick« kann das Publikum den Klangmikrokosmos von Insektenstimmen durch die von der Künstlerin tontechnisch aufbereiteten Klänge erleben. Rasen wächst in den Lücken des QR-Codes und bedeckt schließlich den Code immer mehr; wird das Gras gemäht, beginnt der Prozess von vorn.
