
Hughie Morrissey from Clogher Road and the Tenters is one of the Liberties famous sons who plied his trade as a master butcher for many years on Wexford street. As well as being a master butcher Hughie spent his free time playing junior and league of Ireland football for some of the greats of his time including St. Pats Ath. A host of trophies and medals followed. A proud supporter of Celtic FC and founder of the Liberties Celtic Supporters club. Hughie can now be found on a Monday night in the Harold House balladeering away with the Monday night musicians who travel far and wide to sing and play. Hughie and his lovely wife Carmel RIP helped establish one of Ireland's first Bone Marrow foundations for sick children. Hughie chats candidly about his life and love and family and retirement.
