On today's episode we’re speaking to co founder of Crosstown Doughtnuts and founder of Slerp, JP Then.
Crosstown - London's first artisanal sourdough donut and gourmet coffee brand - was founded by JP and Adam Wills (founder of Gourmet Burger Kitchen).
If you work in Media or in an office near a Crosstown stall or store you’re sure to have had these. They started as a stall in Leather Lane in 2014 and have since grown to 11 stores, 10 market stalls and they're stocked in 6 retailers.
As well as creating a multimillion pounds company out of doughnuts JP also recently launched an online ordering platform that businesses can plug into to sell direct to consumer. This product is called Slerp and is a challenger brand. Charging clients a third of what the current operators charge it could stamp out the competition or certainly get them to reconsider their own models. Slerp launched in Dec 2019 and unlike many other businesses during the pandemic its growing exponentially.
In this episode we’ll be weaving between the two products during our chat both in terms of how they were created and what they are doing during the pandemic.
