In this episode of Your Health Transformed we have the guest speaker Dr Jay Shah who is a cardiologist and also chief medical officer at Aktiia. The main topic that he talks about in this podcast is “Hypertension” since it’s a huge issue all around the world, He starts by giving us an overview of his company. He explains how most people do not pay attention to their blood pressure as they think it’s common and not something that they should worry about and this leads misunderstanding leads them to worst conditions. Even after having the best treatment available yet only one in five percent of people have their blood pressure in control. Further, he explains in detail on how to take a proper blood pressure test. What conditions need to be followed etc? He states that Aktiia is a technology software that is based on optical signals that sit on the wrist and give accurate blood pressure readings almost like a watch. He puts forward facts that are being faced by physicians and patients in the current world. The most mind-blowing fact that he talks about is how only 50% of people are actually salt sensitive regarding blood pressure. He finally concludes by stating that the main aim of his company is to “Empower patients and make them independent of everything and give expert knowledge and be available to everyone”.

In this episode of doctor vision, I talked about obesity, what the journey to that path looks like. I speak through insights that most people have the goal of losing weight at the start of the year, which mostly does not work for everyone and gets stressed over it. I explain how this is not because of weak willpower, exercise etc. but because of the brain and the obesogenic environment we live in. Talks about how the American Diet is the worst diet. I also explain how genes and exercise are responsible for weight gain and fixing the brain problem of bad habits before any surgery or diet to make it work. She also conveys that they not only help people with health but even food and housing needs since they believe health also depends on the environment.
