Cultivating Perspective

Everyday we face small, but significant, challenging and frustrating events that irritate us, anger us, and ultimately compromise our ability to remain calm and positive. Situations like being talked down to, cut off in traffic, given the wrong order; but these events will happen to us all the time, and we can get as mad, annoyed, and angry as we want, it will not change the fact that there is nothing we can do to stop these events from negatively impacting our lives.

Perspective not only helps us realize when our negative reactions to unchangeable events are compromising our well-being, but allows us to reconceptualize the events into positive and constructive ones. This episode dives into how to use the character strength of perspective to your advantage in order to cultivate a better sense of control and well-being in uncontrollable events... among a few other skills regarding better decision making.
