Stagnation is the death of our evolution. Staying still is the opposite of flow. As we embrace change, we're reinvented along with the instrument itself.

To stand still is to die. The drumkit has only been around for just over a century, and it's not done growing. Drumming is bigger than us, and it needs us to be brave and disrupt. To keep reinventing, we have to leave our comfort zones again and again. It's to stand on the very edge of the cliff, never quite falling, but almost.

Pushing the limits of the known drives our evolution. This isn't for everyone, and most won't lead the charge. But we need sheepdogs amongst the sheep. Staying in the illusion of safety is to die. Riding the wave of change is when we most most alive.
