I LOVE to run and i want to empower you to be the best you with your running and life, whether that be training to run a sub 3 hour marathon or completing a couch to 5k programme. This April i will be taking on London Marathon and hope to complete my first Sub 3 hour Marathon just a few weeks before my 59th birthday. When i took up running a few short years ago, i never envisaged running a marathon, let alone achieving the times i have up to now and being selected for the England Marathon Masters team 2020.

Getting kids outside and active is obviously a good thing. We live in a society where childhood obesity is at an all-time high and studies suggest too much television time may contribute to behaviour problems, poor grades, and even depression later in life.  But are the physical and mental demands of long-distance running safe for children? 

At what age is competition appropriate, and what do parents need to keep in mind?  

Todays guest, Tom Williams COO Parkrun Global talks about how getting kids to participate in community runs, like parkrun is a great idea and has worked for many years help children and their parents to be more active.
