My obsession with shark tank has progressed in the opposite direction as I unlearn unethical business practices that I’ve picked up from growing up in a capitalistic society. It’s not that profit isn’t important or necessary. It’s that business will only be human when it treats the client and the relationship as such and not just a number, lead, target, some would say victim.
I believe its very important to talk about these issues despite them being uncomfortable. Having conversations, strengthening our awareness and owning what we deserve as a human will build a core that naturally leads to taking action. Because not one of us can solve this but what it takes is the many. And those of us business owners need to be examples of that and say no to treating our customers in a manipulative way (even if we don’t intend harm) .
And as customers we get to speak up and ask for and pay for true value and to keep not being afraid to demand what you deserve
