We're joined this week by creative entrepreneur and co-founder of Ilana, Samuel Ade! Ilana is an online marketplace and mentorship platform for Black fashion designers—through Ilana, designers gain access to a thriving marketplace to sell their products (with a focus on high quality!) while benefiting from a comprehensive mentorship scheme offering networking opportunities and guidance from industry professionals.
Having started from scratch without any GCSEs, Samuel has not only carved a place for himself at renowned institutions like the London College of Communication and Central Saint Martins but he also embarked on a mission to lead as a creative entrepreneur through strategic networking and a love for building communities. If you're nervous about networking, this is the episode for you!
We're also covering the barriers fashion designers face when starting out and the fashion industry's shift to a (hopefully) more sustainable and considered future.
Get ready for an episode overflowing with inspo, empowerment, and the power of building your creative network.
