A nostalgic musical trip through time from the 50s to the 80s
The playlist for this episode focusses on pop songs that have been used in movies and songs that were specifically written for a film and consequently became popular after the film’s release. Chuck Berry’s You Never Can Tell featured in Pulp Fiction and Stealers Wheel’s Stuck in the Middle With You was one of the many ‘70’s songs flowing through Reservoir Dogs and ABBA’s Waterloo was used in a musical scene from Muriel’s Wedding. The Song from Moulin Rouge, Hernando’s Hideaway (The Pyjama Game) became popular after the films’ releases as did Stayin’ Alive (Saturday Night Fever) and I Just Called to Say I Love You from The Woman in Red. On the Inside was written as the theme song for television’s Prisoner.
