Welcome to the Yello Yoga Podclass! I'm your host, Kelly. My intention for Yello Yoga is to provide yoga classes for yogis who want to connect to the breath without connecting to a screen. While some foundational knowledge is recommended for each yoga class (mountain pose, downward facing dog, happy baby, etc.), there's no such thing as “doing a pose wrong.” Feel yourself encouraged to wander off and explore. Yoga for Grounding, Balance, and Peace | Earth | Element Yoga Series

As part of our elements series, this vinyasa yoga audio yoga class is inspired by the element of earth and includes yoga for full body stability, leg and glute strength, and balancing postures. 

The earth element is associated with the root chakra which is tied to feeling secure, safe, and stable. It's trusting that the universe (your higher self, or however you want to call the divine) has more than enough to give you and that your needs can and will be met while you're human on earth.

  • When the earth element is underactive, we may begin to feel unstable, change direction often, feel unsafe or unsupported, and have anxiety. We may also have a hard time keeping a job, hobby, or relationship.
  • When the earth element is overactive, we may become static - resistant to change or taking risks.
  • When the earth element is balanced within us, we feel stable and safe in life regardless of the circumstance. We're at peace with all of life – it’s ups and downs, the spectrum of all emotions, and conflict of ideas don’t impact us the way they otherwise would.

This yoga class is highly focused on building a strong foundation, really connecting to the earth before we rise up. It reminds us that rooting down into the earth and trusting the earth leads to a solid foundation which makes all of life feel easier and lighter.
