In this deeply personal episode, I share what five weeks of post-surgery recovery revealed about the profound relationship between shadow and light.
While healing, I discovered something unexpected: the more I've learned to sit with collective pain and personal darkness, the more beauty I'm able to see and receive. This led me to wonder—is our capacity to experience beauty only as deep as our ability to feel darkness?
Just as we can only love others to the extent we love ourselves, I explore whether we can only experience wonder to the degree we can hold pain. You'll hear about the moments that caught my heart during recovery, how forced stillness taught me to notice butterflies and ant colonies while holding space for global suffering, and why some of us are meant to transmute collective darkness into something beautiful.
This isn't about choosing light over shadow—it's about discovering how they dance together to create a more integrated, alive way of being in the world.
