Since joining The Times, she has focused on building a team of strong leaders and collaborators.   Joy's initial career aspirations did not include reaching the top of the media advertising world. She started off as an athlete and wanted to be a social worker. Her fascination for people and competitive nature, led her to the realization that she was passionate about media and advertising.
