Women in WW2 at home in Britain had their lives turned upside down. Anna Parker-Naples shares her research and creative writing process as she creates her first novel based on events that happened in her home town Leighton Buzzard, Q-Central and nearby Bletchley Park. From the factory girls at Gossards who made the parachutes for Spitfires, to the Land Girls who fell in love with POW's and the WAAF's and WRN's billeted in the town alongside thousands of East End evacuees, Anna's intention is to share the bits that inspire her work, but may not get included in the final manuscript. As a writer on the prestigious Faber Academy writers course, Anna will share the journey from idea, to first draft, revisions, the search for an agent and traditional book publishing deal, and beyond. Welcome aboard on the journey of writing and publishing my first historical novel about the lives of women at home during the Second World War.

The sole purpose of this podcast is sharing with you the entire novel experience, and celebrating those remarkable women in Britain as I share the stories of their lives and how they were affected by the war.

I'm Anna Parker-Naples, a multi-award winning audio expert and bestselling author of books 'Get Visible: How to Have More Impact, Influence and Income' & 'Podcast with Impact: How to Launch Your Podcast Properly'.

I've been inspired to write this novel ever since I read some of the testimonials of great people of Leighton Buzzard, England, where they shared some secrets you probably don't know about how the war changed everything for them and how they managed to come out stronger in the end.

On this podcast I will share the learnings, discoveries and challenges I've encountered in the creative process of writing a novel. You’ll hear the fascinating stories of present survivors of the war and their families, and more on the war period from interviews with brilliant historians.
