On January 22, 2025 The Appalachian Rekindling Project held a ribbon cutting for their newly purchased property in Roxana, Ky. A small group of concerned citizens gathered on the site to celebrate the acquisition of this 63 acre strip of land that cuts right through the proposed site for the new Federal Prison that was planned to be built in Letcher County.
